Agreed, we need to approach it like Ipswich did and consider the 2027/28 season and another potential promotion fight.

I'm really curious about what we've got planned in terms of transfer targets and budget, and whether we can attract the calibre of player we need (especially if they're coming from overseas). I know there were issues in attracting players to the East Riding in our previous campaigns, though admittedly the shoddy training facilities were also a factor.

I don't think many were particularly inspired to play for Phil Brown or Steve Bruce / Mike Phelan to be fair either. Jakirovic definitely has more pull.

Seen were rumoured with ederson?
Dont think theres anything in that other than hes at fener and a free agent

His wages would be insane

The turkish keeper at man utd could be a possibility
Hes not gonna be number 1 there

I’d cash in on Joseph, he’s not good enough for the Prem despite people loving his running ability. I’d sign Joff if his fee was relatively low. Not bothered about any of the remaining other loans. I’d be open to offers for Millar. I think Drameh might be worth keeping too, but suggestions his attitude aren’t they best, so I wouldn’t be too bothered either way.

It would be harsh but if we want to stay up id be buying 7 new first team players.. only Hughes, Giles, Belloumi and McBurnie would start, maybe Slater but the rest on the bench.
I think we need more than 7 new signings. If Acun want to have a go in the Prem and im sure he does then there is no room for sentiment. I think all the loans go back except maybe Gelhardt. I also think you need to strengthen every position and the current starting team become the bench/squad players.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, yes we're in the Premier League but we did only finish 6th in the Championship, to me that suggests we need to strengthen every position

While I agree, we finished 6th due to a late season blip. Before that we were in the conversation for top two.

I get that some players might not be fully Prem ready but think we're being a bit hasty with getting rid of some.

You look at our team in the final including the subs and if you only sign joffy from the loans you're looking at 4 gaps to fill already - which can be first team players with those starting dropping to the bench.

We're probably looking to move on

Phillips
Famewo
Jacob
Burstow
Uncle Dave (although id keep him for vibes)
Vaughan
Dowell
Palmer
Kamara
Destan

Plus potentially losing
Lundstrum
Yu
Amir
Collyer
Koumas

Before getting round to the lines of Millar, drameh and KJ.

We've got space to get players in, integrate them and have backups if they're not hitting the ground running.

And let's not also forget in the very UNlikely scenario we go straight back down maybe we'll want to get rid of the new signings on mega money and have the spine that got us promoted the first time round.

If The Athletic are saying there that Ehab was only due a windfall if we got promotion within 3 years of the sale, then that contradicts what The Athletic also said last week on a podcast which I mentioned on here at the time - that Ehab was specifically pushing the club to make a legal case for automatic promotion because of the windfall he is due. Based on those things both existing it's hard to know what is true.

Oh definitely, I just meant 7 for the first team. I dont think we need a complete new starting 11. But I agree we need more than 7 new players.

Can we afford to keep a player because he runs around a lot. Do other prem teams have this luxury?

His running is world class, he wouldn’t be a luxury you need these specialised players that have stand out qualities in the premier league. Jack of all trades types just don’t cut it at the highest level.
