I know it's in the Sun, but looking at the proposed site of the new stadium they would clearly still need to find somewhere else to play during the building phase as a substantial part of Sid James obviously needs to be demolished. Probably a minimum of two full seasons as well.

I can't see Northumbria Police ever agreeing to letting them play at the Sol given the havoc this would cause in Sunderland town centre every other week for two years, so realistically that leaves them with Newcastle Falcons - 11k capacity, Gateshead Stadium - 11k capacity or Darlington arena - 25k capacity. The only other option is to go completely off piste and go with something like Murrayfield which might not be as fanciful as it sounds.

They seem to be looking to make this whole issue as difficult as possible for themselves.
They could play at Darlington and then swap the 25,000 fans at half time for the other 25,000 :emoticon-0136-giggl

I've bought a few things in my life that was the newest gadget that I convinced myself I would use often but the reality is after a couple of times using it I put it in a cupboard and it hasn't been touched for years.

The mags are just a Saudis equivalent of me buying a drone a few years ago flying it about 15 times and has now been in a cupboard under the stairs doing **** all for about 3 years !
You should count your self lucky you don’t live down the road from Lakeland. <laugh>

Can’t wait to see Onwurah ‘s presentation to parliament demanding govt sort it out

They could just relocate to London, or even Riyadh. It's what they really want anyway, so here's an excuse.

What the absolute ****??

Neither of them look to be confined or housebound, imagine if this is the very best thing to do with what's left of your life.

'Grandad, are you coming out to play football with me' ...

... 'Grandad's busy son'.

<doh>

You may be right mate.

'The Cathedral' isn't only worthless, it would cost money to knock the stadium down and return the land to the City ...

... the training facilities need completely renewing so building them, and a new stadium, at Milton Keynes would be easy.

Much cheaper than persevering with Newcastle <laugh>

John Hall tried to bully the Council into buying the stadium 'for the good of the city' ... tosser.

Just when I thought they couldn't get any more embarrassing

I've done some daft things over the years at matches ...

... but this lot make me feel quite dull tbh.

They've completely lost track of what support, passion and humour really is which wasn't always the case.

All kinds of people from the NE used to be classed as friendly and always up for a laugh.

Now there's a massive difference between two groups of people who are only a few miles from each other.

I find it a bit sad tbh, they're destroying the banter and teaching their kids to hate other Geordies or people from other parts of the NE.

Perhaps we need another World War to remind people how little different we all really are.

It really is heart breakingly sad that adults would embarrass themselves in that way.

Over a football team they are completely disinterested in.

They’d be better off in London tbh, at least they'd have other 'rivals' to get upset with.

As it is they're the furthest club north of the Tyne and pretty isolated. So they fabricate ludicrous rivalries with anyone they aspire to being like Liverpool, Man Utd, Barcelona, etc, and try to ignore those they see as beneath them like us, Boro, Carlisle, etc.

Pitiful and desperate in equal measure.
