The thing giving me confidence about signings that seem out of reach we pulled the likes of ELF in the championship. So we’ve obviously got a big pull. Premier league football and a view at developing players
This is not the Sunderland of old. We have an outstanding reputation these days. Players love being here. Just see Amad. Enzo. These lads at huge clubs but absolutely LOVE Sunderland (and that’s as a championship club). I can’t wait to see what we do.

If you're a top quality 19 or 20 year old and PL teams are circling, we should have little chance against the established teams. Hopefully we can punch well above our weight in that regard due to our proven focus on youth - and our decent image / support.

Getting another eye-popping signing, like Le Fee, in early could be key and help to get other prospective signings to take notice.

Others have said it as have I in the past. He sold his soul to the Arabians when he decided to go and play there. To be honest, I couldn’t give a toss about marriage equality or the perceived inequities of homosexual people today. But he said that he did and was vocal about it. Then he goes off to the Middle East to ply his trade. So that made a mockery of all his virtue signalling with his rainbow laces. If there is two things I value it’s honesty and integrity, which I don’t think he has. And it’s a shame because he was a brilliant football player.
Jesus wept. You’re nice. It’s hardly ‘perceived’ in Qatar and Saudi.

I think we’re going to make at least one signing that makes people go WTF

likely due to links with RLB or the French lads we have playing for us

Let's be honest, the players we borrow could be critical.

Two things are in our favour in that it's a place young ambitious players will want to come ...

... and is somewhere big clubs will trust to send their 'Amads'.

The top clubs are overloaded with lads who can't get games and Speakman will be able to name every single one off the top of his head.

Ha'way the Lads!

why did Tommy sign for Brighton then if players only move for game time?

he wanted to test himself and prove himself at a premier league club on premier league money.

ditto Clarke and Ipswich.

we’re that premier league club now. Players will come to us to fight for a place.
Why did Mepham not want to stay at Bournemouth and get less game time? He was the original example anyway of someone who might be happy playing less in the premier. We could go round for hours and hours on it.

It isnt really like Watson was giving up game time in the first place. Brighton have tried for 3 windows to get him, long before he debut.

My point is not that players wont come to us. Of course they will. The challenge is those who have played 40 odd games a season accepting being a rotation player. And again, I dont really believe we will rotate other than out of necessity and pros know that. Players are fit, but then there is match fitness. Regis himself pointed out the disruption to performances when changing things in the last 5. That is the only point I am making. I just dont believe if you are Mepham, pushing for international recognition, he is ok with a prem squad place. If you ar Dan Neil, who has been an ever present captain of your hometown club you cant be ok with not having the same responsibiity next season. These are reasons players graft for years, to play. If sign someone better than Neil I have no issue, that is the clubs choice. I dont believe he hangs around long though if he is getting bits and pieces. Sides in Europe can make the games go round a bit, or those fighting for cups. We cant.

Jadon Sancho was expected to go for between 20 and 25 million to Chelsea, I’d love us to be in for him if they don’t take up the option.
