Seeing Chelsea usurp us in the league, play exciting football and get good results makes me physically sick. They remind me of us in 2022/23. I hate it here so much.

I can't believe what I'm having to watch us become while other teams overtake us.
Yes we've been under par this Season. Injuries obviously have made things worse - but it's all been fine margins.
The two sendings off over virtually nothing.
The draw at Everton we should have scored 3-4.
Could easily have scored 3-4 against Fulham also.

We hav'nt been as bad as people are saying.

Seems we really need another goalscorer brought in though.
The main thing that does bother me is that we bought soo many defensive players yet in the five years Arteta has been here the only forwards we've signed on permanent deals are.. (I would argue Havertz was a midfield signing)

Jesus, Trossard and Marquinhos.

City drew at home to Everton (and could have easily lost).
Spurs lost away to Forest (probably not a surprise result, although Forest are currently 3rd <yikes>)
Chelsea lose in the last minute to Fulham at The Bridge.

Liverpool have a chance to create a serious points gap between them and the rest of the pack.

We also need to win at all costs tomorrow. At home to Ipswich Town, you'd expect us to get the job done, but as we've seen this season, you can't take anyone for granted in this league.

Some ex-player related news.

After joining Sturm Graz for £4m just 6 months ago (which was a club-record deal for them at the time), Mika Biereth has already agreed personal terms with AS Monaco for a January move.

He's got 15 goals already at the halfway stage (12 in the league, 1 in the cup and 2 in the Champions League). So I guess this news isn't entirely surprising. I was actually more surprised that better teams weren't interested in Biereth in the Summer.

However, the reason I bring this up is that we have a 20% sell-on clause on this deal. So I wonder how much we'll make from this deal.

presumably approx £2m

So in the first image, a yellow is issued and VAR agrees it's only a yellow. In the second image, a yellow is issued and VAR recommends it's upgraded to a red.

Que?

I like your optimism. This all looks good except us beating Newcastle. They have our number for some reason.<steam>

Liverpool winning the Premier League.
Spurs/United winning the Europa League.
Chelsea winning the Conference League.
City winning the FA Cup.

This has the hallmarks of being an absolute disastrous season. A Spurs-United final is like hell on earth for me, I can't believe it's about to become a reality. FFS.

We NEED to turn the 2nd leg in Paris around pronto.

Meh. It’s a watered down competition. Not only are some of the better teams now in the larger CL format rather than going into the Europa, but it also doesn’t even have the CL dropouts in it either. Those four teams in it are absolutely gash. Worst semi-final line-up of a Europa I think I’ve ever seen.

It’s a trophy though so unfortunate one of them will win something but it’s also a trophy that I don’t think we’d particularly care about. If a club is under pressure to win the PL or CL (as Arteta rightfully is) then the Europa (along with the league cup and FA cup), while nice, is not going to be one that relieves that pressure (hence why almost every Spurs fan I hear about still wants Ange gone even if they win it - and why United fans wanted ETH gone even though he won it). We were in that compo for years in the 2010s and I don’t wish we were back in that stage of our club development. Thursday night football can get in the bin.

It will be funny to watch one of them lose in the final and it’s a naff enough non-event of a trophy for me to not give two hoots about it being won by a rival. Win-win for me.

Indeed, We are up for the Conference league which is an even bigger joke, but I think Brunel was referring to the fact that if Arsenal dont win the CL, they will be the only "big 6" club (bar the loser of the europa final) to not pick up a pot.
