I’m comfortable with managing the squads fitness like we are now but confidence is one of the most important factors. We need Wilson fizzing again. He’s a good player playing badly. Fully agree that Le Fee will help - he’s one of the best I’ve seen at our club ability wise and may solve the lack of forward passes which are an issue. To be fair to Swansa there were well organised and did a great job of cutting out passing lanes, but service to Isidor was poor and he and others looked flat. Neil isn’t playing his best either at the moment.
There are a lot of moaning ****ers at the game mind. It gets me down at times. There are definitely some weirdo’s at our home games.
TBH I did a lot of moaning myself yesterday, but that was directed towards the officials, who were absolutely atrocious. I've always believed having a pop at individual players on the field is counter-productive, and was disappointed to hear so many boos when Watson went off, even though I don't agree with what he's done. If I've got to criticise individual players, I'll do it on here, rather than at the game.
Think I can accept some disjointed poor performances as we’ve started rotating (which I think is the right call) but the last couple have been really bad. I think my main concern is how we’ve looked since maybe December time. Quite far off how we looked in the first stage of the season. Could be down to depth, or RLB not thinking that style is sustainable for a season. I would say that if we don’t go up and performances stay as they have for the last few months, RLB could find himself under big pressure if we don’t keep grinding out the results next season but time will tell on that. Think our last 3 fixtures are pretty much perfect prep. I’d have Neil and Hume rested on Friday and then for the last 3 I’d be picking as close to our playoff 11 as we can. Need a bit continuity imo and really really could do with mundle and cirkin back for the play offs.
Maybe it’s naive. Maybe it’s blind faith. ‘Expect’ may have been a bit strong, but I do have a strong belief. A lot of the players in our squad have been promoted via play offs already. We have some important players to come back in to the fold in time for the play offs and I think whoever out of the top 3 it is that fall in to the play offs with us will be disappointed and so maybe on the back foot in that regard. I think we will do it - but that’s just me.
I wouldn't be disappointed if this is Dan Neils last ever season for us. I really dont get the hype surrounding him at all. Also if Brighton were watching yesterday they may try and pull out of paying 10m for Watson. No pace, no power and zero creativity.
I know this is going to sound like sitting on the the fence but that playoffs genuinely is a complete lottery and frankly I think we have as much and as little chance as anyone. 25% chance
Neil is a really good player. He has a class middle part of the season but he has went off a cliff for a big batch of games. Not sure if it's fatigue or he is looking beyond this season. He is so important to us and we need him back to his best.
He’s still a very good player at this level despite a few struggles this season. Least of our worries
Im not saying hes a bad player mate, i just dont get the hype. If someone is prepared to throw good money to sign him from us then I wouldn't be disappointed at all
I certainly don't think it's 'mental' to believe in your team ... ... without that what's the point? If you can only he happy when a match has finished or when something has been achieved it means everything is in the past. If Hereford fans hadn't believed they could beat Newcastle United they'd have denied themselves weeks of wonderful 'what if' anticipation. Watching football, based on stats and bookies odds, is part of what's making football dull these days imo. Based on what, their current form just at the point when they need to be professional and keep it together. They were an absolute shambles yesterday against the bottom side in the Championship ... ... a side that had won fewer games than anyone else.
Based on the fact they’ll finish on the most points, comfortably too You do realise Plymouth took 4 points off us too?
And we'll finish on more points than the teams currently below us ... ... doesn't mean we'll beat them.
So was I wrong to say Sheffield United are likely to be our toughest opponent in a play off campaign? That’s what you were quoting me on. It’s true but you knew that already
