The last time we went up Elliot Embleton ran half the length of the pitch and banana'd one in for the winning goal ... ... not worth worrying about mate, anything could happen.
I’m not talking about an outlook - I’m looking at statistics. I’m taking outlook out of it. The fans of the other clubs who are losing as much and if not more than us, are as concerned about performances as we are
Statistics mean nothing based from us being bossed from inferior opponents the last 2 games leading into the biggest 3 games of our lives
The last few performances have definitely been poor. But I also think our “style” is absolutely suited to playoff games. I mean that rationally without any form of optimism. I’m actually naturally a worrier (I’m clinically diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder), which naturally also makes me more of a pessimist. I think it’s unlikely we win the playoffs but statistically and objectively we have as good a chance as any of the others and I do objectively think our fairly dull defensive style is suited nicely for playoff games and indeed (whisper it quietly), the premier league
Form and momentum aren’t that important. - just ask Peterborough fans 11th in the form table against the top team and newly crowned champions. Turning up for the big games is what really matters.
Sheff Utd have been bossed by three inferior sides and lost three on the bounce ... ... if they beat Burnley, on Monday, they might be promoted automatically.
Plymouth just beat Sheffield Utd. Literally anyone can beat anyone. Id rather be the side with Enzo Le Fee and Jobe Bellingham back in and fresh than the others.
Im not at all. Sheff Utd and Leeds are struggling obvs, so does that suddenly make it ok that we are also? Yes they are struggling this is our perfect opportunity now to take the bull by the horns and get back to the Prem. Itll never be this easy ever again to do it.
Just seen the 2nd leg date of the 4th v 5th S/F. 13th May. Got a week booked in Gouves, Crete (ooh look at me i'm in Crete), hopefully we can do it or the rest of my hol is ruined
Results are pretty meaningless right now although wins would be good for confidence. Individual performances is my biggest concern though, especially the ones from players who will 100% be involved in the playoff games. Roberts, Neil, Browne, Watson, Isidor, Rigg none of them have played well for a while now. Yes we'll get players back for the playoffs but how ready will they be? You can say we are easing off for the playoffs but it's very hard to just flick that switch and turn it on when it's needed most.
Which explains how crazy this league is now and we now need to show our authority. Based from Wilder showing how much of a w@nker he is yesterday i very much doubt they will. On a side note, i fecking hate that prick so much
I agree with this but nothing we can do about the players coming back. We have to hope they get eased in whilst also hitting ground running. ELF and Jobe are the priority for me and they have a bit longer
One of my favourite 'all out attacking' games was at Reading when they were flying ... ... we lost Stewart and Simms but smashed them all over the park. We have enough talented players to win any game so I'm not going to waste a second fretting about all the endless permutations. No one will think playing Sunderland will be easy and they're right.
My worry is out on the flanks. Roberts is all skill but like a wet fart infront of goal or anywhere near the box. The Left hand side is now fecked until Mundle returns. Most successful teams in World football despite what league have a top goal scoring winger and we currently don't
His winning goal, in the playoff semi final at Hillsborough came out of nowhere ... ... fabulous night down there.
Only scored 7 goals (6 from open play) since then in over 7500 minutes. So it really would be out of nowhere if he scores.
