with JC - i honestly think we are a better side without him, last season everyone knew he was our game plan, keep him quiet and we fail.

if Ipswich go down he will stay and they will use him his more, if they stay up, sold or loaned out

Aye, I think that’s why he’d thrive in this team though. We wouldn’t just be giving him the ball and hoping for the best, he’d have much more time on the ball and wouldn’t be getting doubled up as much imo because we’ve got better players all over the pitch who’ll capitalise on that.

He’d be even better when not solely relied on

Doubt he’ll be back here anyway

Feel like a lot of our fans go on like scorned ex’s when some of our players leave to go to clubs in a better position than we are, almost as if they’ve turned their back on the club and **** in the centre circle on their way out. Can’t say a good word about them, all of a sudden they become ****e etc. Same happened with Maja and it kills people to admit he would walk into our team.

Ridiculous, isn’t it? <laugh> I’ve seen some claim Clarke wouldn’t get into our team and isn’t a miss. Aye, right :emoticon-0104-surpr

Not arsed about that don’t rate him very much

He essentially went from League Two to the Premier League in half a season, without doing much in the Championship, and bypassing League One entirely. 3 goals from open play for Ipswich last season (plus a penalty), albeit not many minutes. He's not proven at this level, but not a terrible punt for West Brom.

Sure 2 of those 3 goals from open play were against Sheff Wed in injury time when they won 6-0 anarl. They aren’t replacing Majas quality on the cheap imo so it’s a backwards step for sure you’d think they would’ve tried to bring in a PL loan with more experience maybe. Is Dike still injured for them haven’t seen much of him

He isn't a miss tho, he is a quality player and I rate him highly but we sold him, used the money to strengthen the squad (Mepham loan deal was on the back of us selling Clarke, as was Le Fees) and that's helped us challenge for the promotion

Who knows if we would of been better with Clarke or not, pointless conversation I suppose as non of us know. LM has only been an issue for us because of injury, when Mundle and Watson are fit it's one of our strongest positions.

Clarke is a quality player and I loved watching him with us, but we've moved on now and I would rather we give Watson and Mundle minutes than bring Clarke back to stop their developments

They aren't as good as Clarke at the minute but I don't think the drop off is massive and they are our players so for me I'd rather play them. I do think both have more upside than Clarke, I think they offer more tactically and can play in more systems/styles of play compared to Clarke

Great player for us but we've not exactly struggled since he's left and I think that's the point some are making

But if you had the choice of Clarke and promotion or Mundle developing and missing out you’d take Clarke every day. His returns for us was like 1 every other game, Mundle was 1 in 3 I think before he got injured. Not saying Mundle won’t be a better player but at the minute he’s nowhere near Clarke. I agree with using the money from his sale to fund others coming because Mepham has totally transformed the team but if we can bid for Cannon I reckon there’s still money in the pot and if we could get Clarke back on loan it would mental not to. But there’s no evidence we could or he would. Was just making a point that he would be quality in this team now that have a very tactically sound manager

No guarantees getting Clarke gets us promotion tho. Instead we could give an Ipswich town player minutes, they could down and we've developed a rivals player for them. At the same time Mundle and Watson don't get enough minutes and haven't developed.

I just don't think the drop off is as big, Mundle was playing class before his injury and Watson showed he belonged. I truly believe those 2 as our 2 main LMs can get us promotion as much as bringing Clarke back

Of course nothing is guaranteed and it's really tough to make sure you get the balance right between developing players and winning now but I feel this season the club has got that balance spot on (so far)

4 goals and 3 assists in 12 starts for Mundle this season.

teams worked out, you keep him out of the game, we dont win,

without him, its spread out a lot more, we look more of a team.

he looks like hes lost that spark,.

grass isnt always greener
Agree with this, although, as has been said, I think he was marked out last season, With the quality we now have in the side, it’ll be much more difficult to do that as it opens up space for our other players.

Despite saying that, I don’t want us to get him back! We have moved on and are in a good place. He’s not

Think we just need to let it go about Clarke he was great here he’s moved on, we’re doing just fine
Spot on, I loved Clarke with us and I hope he smashes it at Ipswich (unless playing us of course)

He gave everything for us and was part of the group of players that got us all excited about our club again

Also shows how far we've come that some wouldn't want him back, we have some unreal talent at the club these days

4 and 2 in 15 league games overall, Clarke had 15 and 4 in 40 - Mundle did have a game he was subbed on in 90th min though so fair enough.

The 2 assists didn't include the one he very clearly assisted for Isidor against derby - can watch that back and see how obvious it was. This would make it 7g/a in 1000 mins or 0.63 per 90.
