He doesn’t half miss some good chances

Stoke (H) - header inside the 6 yard box
Blackburn (A) - 94th minute 1 on 1
Stoke (A) - header right in front of goal
Portsmouth (H) - right footer smashed wide

That’s just off the top of my head.
Also makes chances out of nowt though with his pace

Just young. 19 year old isn’t he. Age and Experience brings better decision making. Unless you’re pissed.
I'm more encouraged that he's getting himself into positions to miss those chances

I've seen better technical CFs but who are never in a position to score, Mayenda regularly gets into positions to score but just lacks that composure

Once he learns how to shape up better when shooting and the game slows down for him, he will be class

His weight of pass is good, he works hard, he is strong, rapid, has good movement, good positional out of possession but lacks that composure

Once that comes we will have one helluva a player on our hands. He's only 19 and it's really his 1st full season in the 1st team

He has but to be fair to the kid, he keeps trying and continually gets into good positions - imagine if it comes off for him one game!!!

Agree with all of that. He also needs to work on building confidence on his right side.

.on a serious note, I am note sure you can reach it. The proper composure we are talking about.

And to think last year couldn't get into the Hibernian team <doh>

Comes with age and experience that’s how they learn

That's great but we can not keep missing chance after because of age. That's my worry mate. Games will get rough and we need to be clinical, I don't see that in him. That's a big worry for me.

That’s it like. Imagine missing one of those chances in a play off game? He needs to learn and fast.

Agreed. For me, the key for a young player is seeing improvement in his game. He's far from the finished product, but he's massively improved from last season. That gives me hope. I think he can finish (all 3 of his goals this season have been smart finishes) and once he gains some confidence and a bit of composure I'm sure he'll score more. It's worth remembering he's the same age as the likes of Tuiterov and Jones and is miles ahead of them...
