Agreed. They have let him learn a position that even Rhodri said gave him sleepless nights when he first started it for City. It's a tough position, and most doing it can't play like Dan when it opens up. It's a big deal having a deep midfielder who can pass as good as anyone in the team, and pass it forward Him signing would be better for me than any likely new signing.
Agree mate. I have made the Rodri comparison on here a few times, and I think it stands up. It is the most difficult position to play. If we make only 1 signing in Jan I hope it is Neils contract.
I read an interview that Rhodri gave a few months back. He said that after the first few months of doing the deep role he went and asked Pep "Can I not just play football? ". Said it all to me that
I was told this time last year that he would stay this season and try to get to the premier league with Sunderland. If we failed to get promoted this season he would probably leave if a big club comes in...he likely won't be buggering off to somewhere like Ipswich however. Not heard any different He loves the club but is an ambitious kid and football can be a short career. If we don't go up and he leaves for big money to a top premier league I'd wish him all the best. He's an incredible talent so fingers crossed we get over the line this season and he commits to a long term contract!
Like the bore not a million miles away from me shouting PASS IT TO PADDY through the match no matter where the ball was or where Roberts was. At the top of the ignorance pyramid.
There's a name from the past, used to live over the road in Neville Terrace backing onto the Redhills Hotel car park.
What a dismal experience it must be following Portsmouth away from home. A 700 mile round trip to sing your one dreary song supporting the club and half a dozen others about Adam Johnson and how we had seats empty in the ground, etc. Sunderland's away support has a pretty good repertoire, in comparison, and new songs keep being created ... like the new RLB effort.
