I mean stokes keeper was available all summer for 1m. I would immediately swap him for Patterson. Said so during the summer too.
yeh that was insane he went to Stoke so early in the window. You’d have expected most of the championship to wait him.
That's one, who in my opinion was a hell of a shot stopper but didn't command his area
I’m in no “rush” to sell Patterson but I think if a premier league club is willing to give us £10m for him there is plenty we can do with that money to improve the squad all round.
I’ll add that selling academy players for £10m+ is all part of what being a sustainable club is.

I really don't get the Patto to a big club talk, simply due to his distribution.
Young should really stay where he is, next summer could be perfect for the lad. He seems to have the minerals.
We definitely need another winger who can preferably play both sides if needs be. Which is a big ask.

Noone said we need to sign the finished article though. Nothing wrong with folk saying they would sell Patterson, we could get good money for him and it wouldn't cost a load to sign someone as good - or slightly better than him. The rest of the money can then be used to strengthen the squad
I don't mind Patterson but imo he hasn't kicked on the last couple of years, his kicking is poor (not as bad as some make out but it's still poor), he is too slow off his line and this impacts his ability to command his box
Cooper at Sheff Utd, Johansson at Stoke and even Vigouroux were all signed for a fraction of the cost that we would get for Patterson - they've all performed better than him this season
it’s why I wouldn’t be against “cashing in” if somebody bids £10m+. I think to an extent they’d be buying potential. I don’t THINK he goes on to be a first choice premier league keeper, myself. He’s good at this level. But we can get a good keeper at this level for £3m.

We sold Picky to the PL he was light years ahead of Patto. Mind 3 times the dollar as well.

For all Stoke do wrong, getting a good contract offer to Johansson early in the window whilst all the other clubs went on holiday, was a masterstroke.
Again, which keeper commands the box like Patto gets pelters for?

It's a lazy accusation imo
Just because you don't agree with doesn't mean it's a lazy accusation, he is slow to come off his line and this impacts his ability to command his box
I'm not going to comment on other GKs, I watch Patterson more than any other GK so I can have an opinion on what I feel his strengths and weaknesses are rather than just being accused of making a lazy assumption
Patterson isn't as good as some make out and he isn't as bad as others make out. He is a top 10 GK in the league but if we were to get good money for him I would take it
