Pleased that is over with to be honest. It is a shambles of a system when it comes down to last minute hawking of players like we saw last night.

Overall out best window under KLD I would say. I know the striker is a problem, but tbh I am pleased we didnt hit the big red panic button yesterday on that one. Give Mayenda his chance for now. Let Wilson find his feet. See where we are in Jan re the young lad from Gent.

Browne and Mepham are the sort of signings I hoped we would make this summer. Just those 7 or 8 out of 10 lads in key areas of the pitch that will bring the best out of others. Mepham in particular offers opportunities for Le Bris to play a back 3 should he want to. I am not a back 3 fan but I could see that working in some games for us.

The Ghanian lad is a real prize signing for me. Just stands out as an elite level footballer who should help us dominate games and opposition players.

Players like Wilson and Poveda I think could be anything. If one of them clicks with us I will be delighted. That young Serbian lad is a coup, be interesting to see how hard he pushes for that first team spot first half of the season.

Maybe best bit is keeping some of our key players. I will miss Clarke because he is such a fantastic footballer. But his time in the prem has come. To still have Patto, Ballard, Cirkin, Hume, Neil, Rigg, Jobe amd Roberts is a delight to be honest.

Now I hope Regis gets some quality time on the training ground with this sqaud and really does find that cohesive unit that remains consistent all season. I know I bang on a bit about time on the coaching pitch but that really is the foundations that any team is built on. I would still like to see a new coach join the team too, hopefully that becomes our next major signing.
Out of interest if we’d paid 11million for Bamba which is rumoured do you/others think it would have been panic / overpaying ?

By panic I mean moving onto players we have not done due dilligence on. It would have been mayhem yesterday with Harvey being offered all sorts of strikers. I am just pleased we seemed not to have bitten the bullet and gone for one out of left field.

We brought some decent players in this window/yesterday & massively improved the squad given how RLB wants to play, CH is a big signing mind. Disappointed we didn't get that experienced striker to lead the line or a definite ready now outstanding kid (dont think wilson is true 9)......it might be speakman aims to high in that area as some we were linked with were huge uplift from what we have now, eg Orban falling through when looked close....until Fulham went for another of their striker (if rumours are correct).... Fulham deal for other player fell thro so ours deal may have collapsed for nowt!

I know speakman gets grief....but some of his trading is daniel levy style....hemir agreed optional fee of 3m plus 20% of future sales..... unreal that, lad might not make it here but thats decent fee & may get more after.... Stewart was good sale, hoped for more from clarke, but the sell on again protects us, ekwah hemir.....hes creating a chain each window that increases of deals 'out' bringing money in the potential more after....so our ability to trade for better players grows & grows without creating FFP issues....if/when we ever get promoted we should be in a position to buy well & have decent go....but rather than be like Burnley or Ipswich we wont be ****ed if we come back down.....this method/plan/model takes time but if we keep going may even see us grow well in PL....up the road are ideal example, Ashley's trading gave them room to have a bit go....they spunked huge fees on striker from Burnley & a lad who got a years ban.....see no major trading now as FFP room has gone

All we can do is KTF....i think/hoping we have enough here to have a good go....if not sure its still going to be a lot more enjoyable than the recent times.... without a doubt club is on the up

Tough game today, if we can get the win & keep the momentum....were in for a very good season

If we made the wrong big money buy we would have wasted a great deal of whats being achieved

good window imo.

losing players was always going to happen but the club did well to refuse a few offers.

i would never say it was a 'great' window as whatever a club does they could always do better, they possibly tried as well but there are so many things that need taking into consideration, especially for strikers/target men as they demand a high price and usually have agents pushing for the highest possible deal...look at the 10M stansfield to brum, way over the usual cost and i dare say there are also some huge wages thrown in as well and that is certainly not what i want to see at safc again.

so, my opinion is that the squad is stronger in total now and enough to keep a 'top 6' aim on track...more strikers would not have guaranteed any more goals or any higher places, anyway @Scout73 summed the rest up far better than i could.

for those that appeared on the last day or two, please keep away next time, posting little negative 'could be' or 'i think they pocket the money' or even 'does anyone think this might happen' etc while trying to sew seeds of doubt in the fan base then remarkably disappearing again at deadline day end, it simply shows they have no desire to talk about the club in general and only want to slag it off...and yes, there are differing opinions in the windows and many have been discussed, many will not agree with each other and carry on talking to each other (like adults) and even turn up to chat about the games every week.

apologies for the rant but have seen a few fall outs and even lads i like to see post talking about leaving and have let it go till the window was shut, hope they stay and realise not all of us that arrived are c@nts or w@nkers.

So what thread we all going to move to next haha
Hopefully just the matchday threads for a while. In under a year we've had the Mowbray sacking, head coach search, Beale appointment, Mags FA Cup game, BCB, Beale sacking, new head coach search, transfer window opening, Will Still, RLB, transfer window closing. I am tired.

I wasn’t having a go, just sounded like a lot to spend on that player
