Tbh the retro Hummel stuff isn't for me but it's clearly a massive crowd pleaser and that's the whole point. It's great to see a high level of care and attention being put into these things. Really like the idea of different badges on different kits, keeps everyone happy and will sell loads.

Yep I’ve been a staunch critic of the amateur shambles of the off field operations but the video and the Hummel tweet are class and point to a much better future.
I think the problem was the new regime was stuck with some of the old regimes decision making, some of the off field issues they were tied to and only now are able to make their own decisions

Some I agree with. Other stuff was crass and avoidable. You couldn’t plan to be that ****.

The club are building an identity back up. Very few football clubs really have one. Even less have a good one. A few clubs in Germany spring to mind.

This is what happens when clever people who have vision get the time in their tenure to make decisions free of the hangover of the clowns who preceded them

Short (likely accidentally) and then the two hapless, feckless ****s (entirely on purpose) stripped the soul from the club down to the bone.

The guys in charge need patience. They will earn our trust and repay it. I'm pretty ****ing sure of it.

Would be huge if vaux could come back as sponsor or to have some manner of innovative experience inside the ground.

Mistakes are going to be made but christ we are in good hands.

And another grumble was how they downgraded the BCB without consultation but now they’re doing market research on a new hospitality area in the West Stand. Things are getting better.

It’s brilliant to see the positive outpouring over this deal.

Crazy amount of texts, On here, on the fan sites, even on ****ing X/Twitter.

They’ve nailed this one, they have read the room, they have listened to Hummel when they have pitched.

Hummel seem to have put together a wonderful tender for the contract, making it clear that there was a bond and co next at that time, and that as a business they understand and appreciate what the club means to us.

That video that the club put out was utterly fantastic.

I dunno what it is about Hummel but whenever we talk kits they are the ones we talk about. The blue away, the St James shirt, is forever my personal favourite. The home with the full chevrons was my first ever.

On top, they are hitting this nostalgia when the generation who look back with fondness in this era (which was actually a bit **** in reality but with some gold dust in there), are in the main gonna be financially fluid and happy to put there money up for the range.

It’s a match made in heaven. Some have said KLD and previous regime have taken bad advice. Somebody, somewhere in the club absolutely smashed this bit out of the park.

It’s not even a totally premium brand in truth, but it’s just resonates and feels part of the club fabric. We will take that over anything.

I've been buying Hummel hoodies and even trainers, purely on the basis of a few years in the early 90s. And because they've got a bit of euro-style that I like.

I don't buy bloody Patrick stuff, my first kit was the Patrick one from the 3rd division season, or bloody Lonsdale stuff. Hummel gear just resonates. It's that period when I was kid and everything was exciting, even when we were ****.

I hear you mate.

Marco was my Maradona. I didn’t know too much outside of SAFC at that age.

I remember getting a sticker book and being confused as hell that Stoke wore red and white stripes.

At that time what I went to see at Roker was all there was, and it was Hummel era.

It will live forever.
