I found myself, against every instinct I have, agreeing with Jacob Rees Mogg when he said the government should let Thames Water go bust.

Thames Water ought to be allowed to go bankrupt. It would continue to be run by an administrator, the shareholders would lose their equity but they took too much cash out so deserve no sympathy and the bond holders would face a partial loss. This is capitalism, it won’t affect the water supply.
Absolutely. Sod the shareholders ( shares-- only invest what you're prepared to lose) who have happily collected their dividends while the customers have been deprived of leak repairs, sewage treatment etc on the basis of lack of funds. How on earth can dividends still be handed out whilst the overdraft goes up and up to £14 billion ?
The top man should be out the door now , no severance package and made to repay every penny of all the bonuses he has undoubtedly pocketed whilst overseeing such a shambles. Also, sod the bank who has loaned the £14b.-- no govt ''intervention'' to give them their stake back - they've happily placed their bet and lost

Looking for some consensus, I live down a dead end street, not a cul-de-sac exactly, as the houses are only on one side of the road, we have a double driveway and the DPD driver has been reversing onto our drive to turn and get out, now when I say reversing I don’t mean like a metre onto the path, like the full length of the van onto the driveway, the parcels are not for us but for neighbours. Now technically nobody is being harmed but it annoys the **** out of me, am I being an arsehole?

Some drive like idiots anyway,so no,you're not being an arsehole, it's you're property, not a turn table for a delivery driver.

Putting a piece of ply down with nails knocked through has a much better effect. Food from the farm stopped being stolen very quickly for some reason <laugh>

Kids are both super excited about the Easter Bunny coming tomorrow, you can't beat the innocence of youth.

Can't say we put the same effort into the complex web of lies and Oscar worthy acting that we do pretending Santa and the Tooth Fairy are real for the Easter Bunny but they fully believe there's some kind of (giant?) bunny dropping off some chocolate eggs tonight.

Were doing an Easter egg hunt for our grandkids and they're 20&17, don't think they'll ever grow up which is really nice actually.

Talking of Scotland, just ordered a couple of these for Christmas presents ...

... genius idea from James on whisky imo.
