No, but if we start struggling then there'll be discontent which doesn't help anyone.Do you really think our multi billionaire owner will give a **** about people on the internet moaning?
Come on man.

But teams struggle! Liverpool Chelsea Man U for example! No, but if we start struggling then there'll be discontent which doesn't help anyone.
Fair dos. Just going round in circles here, sorry for having a different outlook on things. But it's about opinions. But teams struggle! Liverpool Chelsea Man U for example!
we aren’t struggling at all.
Unfortunately patience is needed in football unless you have silly money and even then its not guaranteedI just don't think we'll have the patience for it overall. The model only works if we're selling our best, most reputable players for big money and using the money to strengthen the overall squad. Which I personally don't have a problem with. Likes of Clarke, Neil etc will inevitably have to be sold. But then you'll get fans fuming about selling our assets, and how are we ever going to progress if we sell all our best players.
We've obviously reached a limit now whereby we can't bring anymore in, permanently, without players going.
You try to have more than one senior striker at the club regardless if fit or not surely? But when someone’s injured ya don’t just start replacing them man! It’s not just Sunderland that are struggling to find strikers there’s every other team in the world so it would seem.
Which one
Cracking post that.Unfortunately patience is needed in football unless you have silly money and even then its not guaranteed
Too much is made of the model imo, the thing that has impressed me is they have a vision n a plan. All succesful businesses have this. Will they get stuff wrong, 100% they will but at least they are going about it the right way. We need to focus on recruitment and development of talent, thats the only way we will be successful
Throwing money at it wont work unless you have a vision n a plan. Remember KLD has spent money, hes invested a lot in the data n recruitment team as well as bringing in quality coaches to the academy. We also had the 2nd highest net spend in the league last season n the only team higher had just got relegated from the PL
It will take time but the aim is for it to sustainable over a number of yrs n not just 1 or 2 good seasons like we had under reidy (only counting the pl seasons)
Patience is something us supporters dont have tho but we need it lol
I have a genuine issue with them, I really do think they've had a massive contribution in shaping the mentality of a sizeable proportion of our fans and it's not pretty. This constant, unwarranted, conspiratorial deep seeded suspicion and distrust of those in a position of authority at SAFC is unhealthy and creates so much negativity.
I understand why it has come about but it's coming to the point that it is problematic (to me at least) and could genuinely be damaging to the club's future.
Ah maybe got em blockedProbably the one he quoted
Ah maybe got em blocked
That’ll make sense.(not the post)Must do aye, was The Exile's post
You do and we are aren’t we? We’ve got quite a few players that can play up top and it’s not really effecting our goals per game stats as it stands. You try to have more than one senior striker at the club regardless if fit or not surely?
Every other team probably has a couple senior options at the club already so aren't as in need as we are
What's that based on?I just don't think we'll have the patience for it overall. The model only works if we're selling our best, most reputable players for big money and using the money to strengthen the overall squad. Which I personally don't have a problem with. That's a very good point. I was probably just venting a bit because it's frustrating as hell at the moment being without a striker etc!Everton for years were ran sustainably, they never threw money around and progressed slowly. The new fella came in and chucked 500 million around like confetti and look at the state of them now !
We are ran well and have been told numerous times by the ownership that the club needs to be self funding, its not going to change.
Lol I'd love to get our business done early, but it's not that simple. Short term it might be slow getting where we all want to be, but better that, than risking our future on a short term gamble. That's a very good point. I was probably just venting a bit because it's frustrating as hell at the moment being without a striker etc!
If you’re saying we are ok squad wise up top - we really aren’t. We need a ready to play number nine asap. Should we pay ridiculous fees ? Should we lower standards ? No. That means we may have to wait or loan. I’d rather have a better quality player through a loan than ‘our’ player but not good enough yet. We already have them. Personally I still think they should have had a ‘laser focus’ on the right player and secured that player by now so there have been errors or miscalculations but what’s evident from our three defeats in a row is we’re missing quality, so let’s not sign less than we need.,You do and we are aren’t we? we will get another one or two but because it’s not happened already I’m not about to start ****ting the bed like most.
Never said we are complete squad wise but like your points we need the best and they obviously take longer! If you’re saying we are ok squad wise up top - we really aren’t. 1. We didn't lose to Crewe 2. It's the ad nauseum repetition of the same weary tropes that grind on some posters.its sad to see when someone puts his/her head above the parapet and has the temerity to express concern our beloved club have not secured striker replacement that we have needed since Jan this year. We are often told by some that this is a forum for discussion and debate yet when that happens a certain section ( i'm assuming former contributors from RTG) dismiss the comments and the poster as negative moaners. Where is the debate there? I have for a long time now restricted my thoughts on here as ......its just not worth it. But for those who feel all is well and we will get it right...by the way, we all hope that is the case. If losing to Ipswich, Crewe (league 2) both at home and Preston ( who I believe will end up at the wrong end of The Championship) is not a topic for a debate about the need to replace what we glaringly need, i'm not sure what the point of this forum is.
