Length of contract he is on at Brighton but neither amount makes any real sense. Kane has lost >£50m by leaving a year early and Bayern have paid £100m for one extra season.

contract length (kane is will be going for free next year) and also age (if caicedo is a hit, he will have 9 extra years on Kane)
Plus theres the english tax (selling to rivals) and also the fact it is chelsea (money bags) buying caicedo vs bayern (this shouldn't play a part but it does).
I'm sure if Levy was to sanction kane to either United or Chelsea we would probably have paid more than the 104m that you got
All of this is correct, plus two other factors.
The first is Brighton's hard negotiating, due to Ceicedo's old club having a sell-on clause.
Ecuador's Independiente del Valle take 20%, which is around £23m.
It's enormous money for them. Their new 12,000 capacity stadium cost $12m in 2021.
The other is that they had serious competition from Liverpool.
Nobody other than Bayern seemed to make a serious move for Kane this summer, for some reason.
Probably felt that they had a chance to pick him up for nothing next year.
