Investing some money in a youngish defensive midfielder who is physically imposing, can break up play, is comfortable on the ball and can pick a pass would be crucial imo. We’ve missed out on Seri it seems but if we could get someone a bit younger for that position in addition to a couple of strikers, I think we’ll start looking like a team capable of promotion in the near future.

Theres a difference between backers and joint owners. Besides, the forthcoming sponsorship deals are supposed to be fairly significant.

Does Acun have backers putting money in then?

As for sponsors I imagine they're trying to get in on the ground floor of a premier league project. If we haven't achieved that in the next 3/4 years they could walk away and the money could dry up.

I'm not overly concerned, would just like a bit more clarity.

If he's only worth 100m then he has backers. Would need them just to pay his fuel bill.

It's always been suggested to me that he has anyway.

I think that’s just as important as a striker now we’ve missed out on Seri. I feel missing out on Seri may have been a blessing as he’s not particularly a ball winner.

On a side note I am writing a book about how to invest in the stock market effectively. It’s a little different to the normal stuff as it is from a retail investor perspective. As this is the angle I teach how a normal
Person can make great returns. As a retail investor and professional I have a clear view of both sides and basically destroy a lot of what pros recommended in the past like diversity of portfolios, time in the market nonsense etc. I’m about 26000 words in so far. When I am at first draft stage, I know a few of you have an interest, I would appreciate some feedback so happy to send copies to you to read and give me your thoughts. As I don’t know any of you I feel the feedback would be honest. Let me know please.
I spent five years trying to learn how to read charts, mainly in forex, oil and gold, I really enjoyed it but made all of the usual mistakes, when/if I eventually retire I’ll definitely be revisiting it as it’s something that I really enjoy.

I’d be more than happy to have a read of your book as stocks are something that I’ve never got involved in <ok>

Either way, good luck with the book mate, as you probably know there’s a huge audience for decent books of this type.

Does the FFP headroom ever run out? We have the headroom due to all the sales we’ve made over the past few years does that just last forever or?

I think it's something like you're not allowed to post losses of over £15m over the course of three seasons.

So as long as you're making a profit for the season, you're fine. If you do post a loss, it can't be more than £5m a season over a three season period.

Ahh I see! So does that compound? So if for 6 seasons we’re well under do we get double the headroom?

It's 39m not 15.,. And we've been in profit in the last 3 years.

Oh well that's much easier then. Even more room to breathe.

They said when taking over the headroom was what made us so attractive. Indicates that the plan was always to invest.

Believe its - £39m in a rolling 3 years, but any profit made immediately prior to relegation would lift that amount, obviously minus the losses in L1.
