Romano said last night we’re continuing talks with Inter for Skriniar but the valuation is still a fair bit apart.

Ally Gold has said we’re (finally!) closing in on a striker but the who hasn’t been said.

To be honest I don’t think he’s going too either. Joining a club on loan and being 6th choice midfielder isn’t ideal. He was subbed after about 60 mins yesterday and it’s tough to see when his next appearance will be again - likely next round of caribou. I don’t see how he’s going to improve or adjust with very minimal chances. He’s more or less gotten the Skipp/ KWP treatment.

Ndombele’s issue with most has been his fitness. He’s genuinely looked fat and out of shape, often puffing after 20 mins. It’s not the best way to endear yourself to your new club and its fans, especially when you happen to be the record signing too. He still looks a little podgy to me but he’s clearly building up his fitness as that was his second 90 mins for the club in less than 5 days so the signs are positive. Looking forward to seeing him fully fit and settled alongside Lo Celso and Hojbjerg, has the makings of a very good - and balanced - midfield.

100%. With Tanguy it’s been clear he’s talented from day 1 but his fitness stayed poor for far too long. Now he’s looking leaner and is working harder across the pitch and having a real impact. Obviously the schedule hasn’t really allowed us to start both GLC and Tanguy together yet but as we brute force our way through the early season schedule just having one of them start can be enough to give us a chance of a result. Both is going to be really tasty.

Fellas, I know what the N'Dombele issues have been. I'm not denying the issues. I'm referring to some fans responses to the issues, which have now cooled off slightly because he is working on improving and it is now becoming obvious.

People were talking about getting rid not too long ago.

Similar to the Levy Out gang. Out? Really?!? To replace him with who exactly? <laugh>

I'd much rather he sort it out, much like he appears to be doing now.

I wonder when, or at which point in the obvious progress, will the "Levy Out" gang change their tune.

Yeah I’ve never fully agreed with the Levy Out mob (which looks ****ing stupid at the moment with my avatar <laugh> - cheers @BobbyD !).

There are things that he does which frustrates me, mainly ticket prices as well as poor decision making with transfers at times but I don’t think I can fault his commitment to improving Tottenham as a club. The signings this window too - which will be even better if we get Skriniar and a ST - have been brilliant on paper and I think he’s coming good with his promises/ intent in that we will start acting like a “big club” now the infrastructure in place.

Still a lot of work and improvement needed but I do believe Levy is one of the better chairman in England/ Europe.

Whenever I ask them that quite simple question they never have an answer, they always give some mealy-mouthed answer about how we'll be attractive to buyers

You know who else were attractive to buyers? Man Utd, and they got one...who has treated the club like their personal ATM for over a decade when their fans were expecting an Abramovichian amount of money to be pumped into the team so they would continue to dominate even when Howard Webb wasn't the ref for their matches

Moments of fickleness is part and parcel of being a football supporter.

But IMHO that is tolerable in comparison to those who think they
know / are correct about every machination/fault in the club they
support (which of course is physically impossible - unless that
person is me ;) ) .

think top 4 should placate people. He'll have earnt plenty of time if you manage to win a trophy.

At what point do the Levy in fans turn on levy? :bandit:

Why are we not looking at loaning Jovic? Madrid look like they are willing to let him go out on loan, not done anything at Madrid but looked brilliant at Frankfurt. Even if it was only a 12 month loan it gives us another option this season and we can look for adequate cover next summer when the budget isn't so tight.

Clubs can't loan more than one player from another club

This also means we can't loan in anyone from Benfica

Not allowed mate, already have Bale on loan. Can’t loan two players from the same club.

Ndombele was looking like the biggest waste of money ever, in recent weeks he has looked a lot sharper and played well in patches.

People will get off Levy’s back if they perceive the club to be spending money and looking ambitious on the pitch, the signings of Bale and Reguilon have gone a long way to showing that too.

Although Tottenham have signed Gareth Bale on loan, boss Jose Mourinho has made it clear he still hopes to sign an out-and-out striker to ease the burden on Harry Kane.

The England captain started on the bench in Tuesday's Carabao Cup win over Chelsea, with Erik Lamela and Steven Bergwijn filling in up front.

"I am optimistic, but more than that, the feeling that I like is that we are trying everything to do it," said Mourinho.

"You succeed, you don’t succeed - but you try to do it. I like the feeling of my club. If we succeed, great. I believe so. If we don’t [succeed], that’s football."

Maybe he just hated United <laugh>
