Not really to be honest, though I quite like it - part of the charm and all that. He seems to be a bit of a late bloomer because at 25 he’s only played 126 first team games but has 58 goals which is pretty decent. Though if you compare players in our squad who are of similar ages you can see the difference in experience; Hojbjerg (25) has played 252 games, Sanchez (24) has played 211, Dier (26) has played 292 and Alli (24) has played 311. I done the obligatory YouTube highlights search and he looks to be a mobile target man which should be right up Jose’s street. Basically a younger Llorente with a decent amount of speed. Left footed too which I always find a small bonus, lefties generally tend to be very technically gifted, I should know, I’m one myself .
Sounds like Foyth is close to joining Villarreal on loan. A good deal for him in general, until you find out they’re managed by Emery
On further research it seems the restrictions on loans in the PL rules only apply to loans from clubs in England. There seems to be no regulations at all that apply to international loans. Which seems odd. On the PL website there is a page that has this explanation How many loans are allowed for Premier League clubs? Loans between Premier League clubs and other English counterparts are officially called temporary transfers. Under the rules in the Premier League Handbook 2019/20 (Download PDF, size: 20.8MB), there are restrictions on how many players Premier League clubs can loan from other Premier League/English clubs. They are: - Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time. - The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time. - Premier League clubs cannot loan to another Premier League club a player they have acquired in the same transfer window. - A Premier League club may loan not more than one of its goalkeepers to another Premier League club. With the exception of Welsh clubs competing in the competitions listed under Rule V.6.2, loans from a club in membership of another National Association do not count towards the above quotas.
Ali Gold is going to love explaining that on a video, I can hear hear him getting really excited as he gets his teeth into it during a 10 minute segment
In the Corona days, loan before potential buy seems to have emerged as far more sound business. Will be interesting to see whether the model remains popular once the match day revenues begin pouring back into club coffers.
I'm surprised that loan with an obligation hasn't become more popular, especially considering it's a pretty standard procedure in Serie A
Max Aarons must be pissed! I wonder if Levy will make a late move for him? Maybe sign him and loan him out, if Aurier is staying?
I suspect we’re staying very close to the Aarons situation. I think he’s a player the club have watched quite a bit and like a lot, similar to Regulion. I don’t think we can buy him and loan him straight to a PL club though so perhaps better to leave him to start every game in a strong Championship team where he’s settled and let Agent Skipp get into his ear ahead of a potential move next summer if/when Aurier leaves.
Buy him and loan him back to Norwich or perhaps buy him and defer the move to next season? I'm sure Norwich would appreciate the assistance. Maybe take Cantwell off their hands while we're at it? We need to plan ahead like we used to.
