Jeez I ****ing Hope Not Watch Skyte Sports are linking us with Antonio Rudiger Why yes, that is the same Antonio Rudiger who falsely accused our fans of racially abusing him last season...
We failed to rectify the issue in the winter window and tbh the same issue of a "big name" striker not being willing to sign snd sit on the bench apply. We needed a striker that knows the league rather than yet another risk like Soldado or prospect like Janssen. It cost us big time last season and will do so so this season.
There is a huge difference in complaining cos you genuinely believe you hear fans making monkey noises and falsely accusing them. Just cos he was wrong it don't mean he was lying...he means he was mistaken
Haris Seferovic of Benfica being linked, again Unless Benfica accepted the first offer we put in front of them (and, crucially, didn't giggle to themselves when we put it in front of them...) I can't see it. He's never been that prolific, barring two seasons ago where he scored over 1/3 of his career league goals in a season that was more to do with Joao Felix being pornographically good than him hitting form, and frankly if we're just trying to sign a body to chuck up front every now and then Josh King really does seem a better option
Initially he did appear to be mistaken, the problem is that a couple of days later he claimed that he definitely heard monkey chants - and then stuck the liar's boot in yet again in February when claiming that the reason he was getting booed in the second league match against the Chavs was because racism had won It's the last one that ultimately says, yeah, I'd like to know who got in his ear
In February he was reported as saying that spurs fans booed him at the bridge cos he made an allegation of racism. I believe he was wrong...he was booed cos he was involved in the son sending off...just like all fans of all clubs do. But none of that equates to him falsely accusing spurs fans though.
"Maybe it’s because I voiced about the racism. If you boo me because of that then you are poor people. I am sorry. This is a sign that we have a very big problem." Definitely nothing to do with him feigning injury to get Son sent off...
But that still does not equate to him making a false accusation which is what I took issue with. I think that anti racists should be clear on that point.
He's accusing Spurs fans of covering up racism with absolutely no proof. I'd say that's a false accusation. He's created some conspiracy where it's been suppressed, despite there being no evidence it happened and none of his teammates hearing it. It doesn't appear to have occurred to him that he might be wrong.
Disagree...he thought he heard monkey noises. He was wrong but he genuinely thought he heard it. He then said he thought he was booed at their place cos he had made a racism complaint. Again he was wrong. The media could have and should have pointed out he was booed cos of the Son sending off but had their own agenda of selling papers/ getting listeners and viewers with lurid headlines.
“The support from my club was there. Also players and everything. For me this was not enough. These people need to be punished. They need educating. We all, even you, failed in this. If people are really honest we have so many people coming into the stadium and in that game when it happened against me, Chelsea fans got arrested. And why? Because Chelsea fans reported the fan who abused Son. On the other side, nothing happened. It’s the people who were around. That’s why I say if we don’t stand up racism won.” He's clearly saying that Spurs fans covered the racist abuse that he claims to have suffered. Azpilicueta didn't hear anything, despite standing right near him. A million microphones didn't pick it up. A ton of cameras couldn't find it. Spurs fans are really good at this cover-up ****, apparently. We probably killed JFK, too.
Being wrong does not equate to making a false allegation. He clearly believed he heard it at the time and that led him to not accepting he had made a mistake. But it still does not make it a false allegation.
His initial claim wasn't necessarily false, but his claim that it's been covered up by the police, Spurs and Spurs fans is just bollocks. There's nothing to support it. He's pulled it out of his arse.
When you are convinced you have heard something nothing will change your mind, microphones didn't pick it up but i did, bloke a couple of yards away didn't hear it, i did. Nothing will shake that, he will always be convinced he heard what he said. I once heard a frog fart, others with me said it croaked but i have heard frogs croak before. Believe me, it farted
Then he's an idiot. If tons of recording devices fail to pick something up then anyone sensible would consider the possibility that they might be wrong. That's slightly more likely than a massive conspiracy, especially when a bunch of those involved could make money from you being right. The media would be able to run stories for days, if not weeks, with any footage.
The reaction to the investigation was a joke and unacceptable. The idea that fans, the club, all the media, his club and the old bill lied is blatantly stupid. But he was far from alone in that stupidity imho.
It's human nature, if you personally were sure you heard something it would take an awful lot to convince you you hadn't. This is high profile and a serious allegation but it doesn't mean the guy is telling lies. He thinks (knows in his mind/head) that he has heard something and nothing will shake that.
