They could have recordered the Grimsby interview the day before. I agree the **** has hit the fan over the last 24hrs or so, it's always interesting being a lads fan...
Watching Fowler's interview after the game made me think that the timing of the sacking was a shock and came out of the blue
He looked upset and shocked saying it game late in the day. Looks like they were preparing for the game as normal

Interesting how Nixon is the only one in the press who claims to know it's off
Local rags repeating this but absolutely no other journalists claiming anything

Has he got a real scoop or is he being played
If something comes of this with MSD either investment or takeover then he will look like a Grade A prick.... but my inner feeling is that ship has already sailed

I get that this deal may or may not go through!! But are they named as directors/exec on the companies house website??

Everything points to the decision on Ross being forced on Donald.

Donald is the head of the club, so the pointers are to outside influence.

That suggests it’s very much on.
.... and I’ve just got used to the idea that it’s off.

No other explanation for me mate. SD just seemed to be frantically putting down anyone who said it was off, none of this "its more than 50/50". I think he knows there needs to be a lot of compromise which at the moment looks too big a gap to bridge

FWIW my take on this:

The sacking I think is likely linked to the takeover.

For someone who has put so much time and effort into being "media savvy" and "engaging with the fans", the thought of him deciding to sack Ross and allowing everyone to think he was 'safe' and have him do interviews and prepare the team on the day of a match just doesn't add up.
It's way too reactionary.
Didn't he also say in an interview afterwards that he 'had faith' Ross would have turned it around?
You wouldn't sack a manager you had faith in unless you were being pressured from outside - and I don't think the fans are enough of a pressure group to have forced it.

It can be could more likely be linked to the rumours around the consortium not liking the numbers?

The moment we knew SD was serious about buying the club was the moment Coleman got sacked - because that was Short taking on the compensation and not saddling the new regime with a huge on off cost the minute they walked through the door.

Maybe this is SD 'paying the soft loan back to the club' by taking on the cost of the compensation before the consortium put money into us?

It's all conjecture and assumption but until the truth breaks that's all we can do: wait and guess.

Mags even turning up on this thread now too....

Sad ****ers
Amazing that for all they think they are a massive club the only solace they have is taking the pi55 out of a 3rd tier club.
Imagine that being the only bragging rights you have.
It epitomises the bullies that they are.
A win over a fallen giant and they are full of themselves. A long season awaits them. Especially when longstaff senior is transferred and ashley trousers the proceeds.
They are pathetic

I think he got a whisper of big news from Safc and jumped in with both feet saying takeover was off, trying to get the scoop. Unfortunately for him the big news was Ross’s sacking. He cant back peddle now as he’d look even more of a tit.

Nixons last few days....
Nixon..."it's on"
Safc..." Big news at safc which will upset most fans...."
Nixon "it's off!!!"
Safc...." Ross has been sacked"
Nixon..."oh **** I guessed wrong!"
He, like most of us, knows **** all.
Niton is just another mag WUM

Usually when the fan theories/conspiracies start flying it's a sign that the takeover is off. Least that's what I've experienced.

If a bid had been lodged it would be more obvious and likely a done deal. So I am probably wrong, And likely it's already a done deal and I haven't checked, But I'm gonna say I think it's broke down.

I think you will be back in the prem either way.
