Why was/is it the best opportunity?? Do you know why? Because the Allams made it happen and overspent. Now they dont want to spend any more and are taking it back.
So let's hope the next ****ing idiots who take over are willing to hugely overspend and are happy to blow their own money.

Nail on head. Too many people whining about owing the Allams too much and not being able to get rid of them yet whining that they're getting their money out so we can get rid of them.

The Allams got lucky last promotion, barely scraped up and if we'd played Brighton instead of Wednesday in the final I think it was touch and go.

One of the main problems people have with them is they haven't tried to leave a long term legacy for the club. They talked like they were doing this for the city but we've seen that it's been more about their ego and all the petty things which have flowed from that.

Anyway I don't see anyone hankering for those days. Yes people do look back fondly on them (and yes I was there, and actually I suspect most regular posters that criticise the Allams on here were too) but I can't say I've seen anyone wanting to go back to those circumstances at all
What I see is people who think that they deserve to be treated with at least a little respect, and desperately want the owners to stop acting in a petty way about a number of things, not least the club's name and concessions
I also see a very small number of people who are desperate to defend the Allams whatever they do (a very small amount and not the people on here who often get accused of it actually)
I don't buy the 'be careful what you wish for' argument myself because I'm certain that I'll disagree with some things any new owners want to do as well, I'm naturally suspicious of anyone who wants to run a football club because I think it's a stupid idea.
The point though is that the situation has become so toxic that unless they change their position on things, which I think they are incapable of, I want them to go before it's too late to allow whatever new person to have a decent crack at it. Hopefully they'll be ok, but if not I struggle to see how they could make things worse and I'm prepared to take that, in my view minuscule, chance

Ok, reference to fans whinging during the Bruce reign about wanting to be entertained etc. Point was we have moaning fans who are never satisfied. Bruce was ridiculed when we appointed him by many, and they sniped away on the forums throughout his time with us. Steve Bruce was without doubt the most successful manager in the clubs history, that didn't matter. Phil Browns managerial stint at City has been rubbished in the same way, ditto Nigel Pearson 'boring, boring Nigel' I even read we were 'lucky' to reach the FA Cup Final, 'lucky' to win promotion through the Play Off's last years etc........FFS. We must have been very 'unlucky' for the preceding 100 and odd years then when we managed to win sweet FA.
The 'be careful what you wish for' reference could be aimed at all of us who campaigned against the Fish/Dolan/Chris Needler regime because when they finally did go we got a whole lot worse. The replacements (chancers) made the ones we drove out look good. And it's those 'good old days' I read fans hankering for. No thanks pal, not for me.
We've enjoyed the best 15 years in the club history but you wouldn't think so reading the forums. The present owners are not going to win any popularity contests, things could have been and should be a whole lot better, as it could have been throughout our clubs under achieving history, but they have delivered on the field and not many have done that. I cannot recall any previous owners, and I've seen plenty come and go, who have got it 100% right. All have had positives and all have had short comings and some just took the piss.
Also no-one would argue that we should have built on the bit of success we have had and it is criminal that we haven't. It has been a huge missed opportunity to really establish Hull City as one of the major clubs in the land. It's gone and probably we will never have the chance again.
And it looks like we are seeing the dying embers of the current regime. Who knows what the future holds ?
Also respect is a two way thing.

He was still sold too cheaply. Irrespective of time remaining on his contract and his desire to move on.

It's no coincidence that most of our sold players like Maguire and Robertson have been described by pundits and ex professionals as 'bargains'. Why? Because they were cheap.

The only minor point to celebrate players moving for less than market value is there's less money than the 'market value' going into the boy wonders pocket. Every cloud.

Perhaps they paid cash up front. Saves boy wonder from having to sit around for 3 years whilst he pays himself off.

That would bring any price down too.
 
The problem now has got to the point were owners/supporters just don't get on. Yes to begin with the Allan's were fantastic and brought the most fantastic times to Hull city but now bad relations have gone to far. We should have gone on to better things but havent , they are now taking their gift of money back. To many managers have fallen out with them, Bruce been the most successful but just couldn't get on with Ehab. The last pre season under Bruce was like this present one so he went. He didn't trust Ehab one bit like many supporters now don't. The Fish/ Dolan era was totally different Martin fish got loads of abuse but at the time he just didn't have the money, there was no sky parachute payments then. Its a very different period now, fans have had some great times and that's because of the Allam's but they are now going to get there money back and walk hopefully because its gone to far. Its really a sad situation some fans are still going because its in their blood, some still love Hull city listen to games but won't go while the situation is like it is and others have just got so fed up with it they don't care. What ever you think its gone to far now I just hope if they ever do go then the new owners are good ones because at this moment in time its a terrible situation. I also think because fans have tasted success they want more of it whilst many years ago we all wanted it but never thought we would get it.I moaned in those days but it was mainly to mates because we didn't have social media like this in fact there wasn't a big interest. Now we have some of the older supporters from Boothferry park era mixed with many newer kc supporters who have been used to better times. Its alright going on about worse times in our history but many fans don't want to know they are more interested in the present and why not. When I tell my daughter how bad it was years ago its boring to her like it will be to many on here after all there was only about 4000 of us at times. For me this season I just hope we stay this league and the situation sorts itself out in the coming months.

It's not too good to turn down when he's going to be impossible to replace and we aren't even going to try.

<laugh> Sorry I forgot you have the ability to read my thoughts as I post.

For the record I was 100% putting myself in Ehab's shoes and was stating what I believe will happen, not what I think should happen,
