Was on a commercial plan with a "fuel leak" once. Was not a good day. Luckily, after a 180 and landing back in London after 4 hours it turned out to be fuel gauge issue. Rather than way than the alternative for sure.

Far better to think you've got a fuel leak and not have one, than think that you don't have one and have no ****ing fuel.
Both result in you being late, but in very different ways.

    Yep, that was my point.
The scary thing was i didn't notice the plane do a 180 and was sitting in the middle at the back so the first i knew about all this was when the pilot said "cabin crew prepare for landing". After 4hrs of an 8hr flight across the Atlantic i immediately thought we were ditching in the sea. The the plane did a sharp turn (more immediate fear), until i saw London out the window.

Sharp turns in a plane are never good, are they?
I'm not a nervous flyer, but the one non-turbulence related scare I've had involved a pilot doing one almost as soon as we left the ground.
I was expecting a steady climb, but the nutter decided that was too much hassle or something.

Moon-face saying the Spanners have had "teething problems" moving
into the white elephant stadium. Not as bad as the 100s of millions
of pounds tiefing problems I have with her shambles of a club.

Teething problems? I thought their fans were brawling and throwing things, not biting people.

I remember flying to Barcelona in the 70's on my own in a tour. The plane was trying to do hand stands as it descended going over the Pyronees. The fellow sitting next to me had his eyes shut and deep in prayer.I was paralised with fear.I had never known turbulence like that then or since.
But we survived to spend most of our cash in the Barcelona stadium buying rubbish....after some heavy drinking,of course!

If sharp turns make you nervous, never fly to San Francisco - the landing involves a simultaneous tight turn and sharp descent, which is more like a roller coaster than an airport.

    What the?

Maybe he knows he can't beat Hamilton in a fair fight so didn't even want to attempt to defend his crown?

There are a number of previous incidents where the crew didn't make it clear to Air Traffic Control how low they were on fuel. That's the problem with this half hour of fuel regulation - seems that you don't want to admit you might be in breach when fuel is low......and I don't think the gauges are that accurate.

Since we don't have a matchday thread up yet ***HINT HINT*** Poch's made some interesting comments about Siggy's transfer to Swansea

"When we arrived at Tottenham, he was a player that was difficult to assess. The decision was made when we were in Seattle to play a friendly game. I remember he was in the starting XI and I had a call to say: 'OK, the agreement is done with Swansea.'

"In that moment we had 34 senior players, and to take the decision was too difficult because we did not have enough time. I think after he moved to Swansea and we saw his development at Swansea he was a perfect player for us."

“When the club and a player decide to move, there is nothing you can do about that. Every time we meet him and see him he shows his quality not only as a player but as a man.

“All the people here talk very highly about him. It's a shame, but sometimes in football you never what will happen in the future."

Sidestepping the inevitability of a dozen "Why Spurs should regret selling Sigurdsson" articles from the usual clickbait merchants, here's something that is always overlooked: who should lose their place in the team?

The reason Sigurdsson is so effective at Swansea is because he's guaranteed to start every match - but at Spurs he wouldn't be, as there's Eriksen, Alli, Lamela and Son all staking claims for regular starts, with N'Koudou and Onomah waiting in the wings, and we also have a player going by the name Moussa Sissoko who might yet come good.

While I do think that there was a place for Siggy in Poch's first season, specifically have him play on the left in the same way that Chadli was deployed that season, it's harder to see a place for him in the current team as he'd be expecting the regular football we could not guarantee - and given he's on £70k a week at Swansea, that's not the sort of wages we can pay to someone who might play one game in three.

You will always have the occasional "coulda, shoulda, woulda" moments with
departed players. True about what level of game time would Siggy be getting
if still a Spurs player, but nice to see Pochettino stating how things went at
Spurs is no slight on either the ability or attitude of the player.

Or maybe he's achieved his life's ambition, got more money than he can ever spend and doesn't want to carry on just making up the numbers like Button did for a decade?
