Santa Cazorla (Arsenal) out for up to 3 months due to ankle surgery.
This sets in quite early....conversations between my group of friends involves lots of descriptions (like your ticking thing) until one of us remembers the word....if we don't, there is a long silence*. No point in youngsters looking all superior...it will come to you as well. The only thing is to develop a sense of humour and laugh at yourself. I put it down to kids having plenty of room because their heads are practically empty, whereas we know so much, our brain loses the file.Ouch, that will be a miss. I have always thought he is their ticking thingy* that sets up so much of their play and momentum.
* I remember getting derided on here a few years back for using "Glockenspiel" here. My brain still reaches for the same word! It doesn't even sound like "metronome" The brain is a funny thing!

*Ps...not a sign of dementia if you eventually recall the word.

Of course I've forgotten that. Amnesia can be handy too.Well I had no choice but to laugh at myself as (if I recall correctly) it was you that led the charge of laughing at me![]()

I always find it fascinating how your unconscious brain carries on looking for words or information without you thinking about it. I keep imagining it searching like mad, then high fiving itself and looking very smug when it passes the information to your stupid forebrain. That's exactly how I look at it too.
Incidentally, I developed a technique for remembering things that usually works. I consciously tell my brain to remember the name or word that I've forgotten and I think of all the hints and clues. Then I give myself 20 minutes to come up with the answer and leave it alone. 20 minutes later the answer invariably pops into my head. When it doesn't I google for the answer. Trouble is, googling is so easy that I'm not giving my brain the exercise so much these days, which isn't the best idea I've ever had.
My brain just goes, "na, not happening anytime soon. I'll probably stumble over it accidently at 3am sometime next week and wake you up to let you know. No need to thank me"I always find it fascinating how your unconscious brain carries on looking for words or information without you thinking about it. Studs showing, reckless lunge. Out of control is a red card by the way.How was that a foul on Costa? Otamendi got the ball first, didn't put much on the man at all and wasn't out of control during the challenge. Football is a contact sport and is being ruined by the physicality being removed. A hard challenge can also be a fair challenge.
Agreed. You have to be 100% sure to give a foul and red card there.Borderline, but not a foul for me.
It wasn't reckless, the ball was there to be won and win it he did. "Studs showing" but didn't hit the man with them. How can it be a foul if you don't touch the player? It's gone too far.Studs showing, reckless lunge. Out of control is a red card by the way.
