If it wasn't for that screwy scheduling we would of gotten away with it .

We're in a worst position than we were when Adams left and I don't remember many people saying he should stay, even though our performances under Adams were better than they've been under AN this season.

To suggest that the manager should go at this point is hardly a knee jerk and to suggest it is just demonstrates that AN supporters have lost the arguement but don't want to admit it.

But there is no argument, they just write us off as a bunch of moaning minnies with far too high levels of expectation. Regardless of the fact that we've spent four years of the last six dining at the top table?! :emoticon-0112-wonde

Is that the "top table" our owners wished we didn't dine at ?

    Indeed!
And one or two of our fans are happy to scavenge for crumbs under the top table than sit at it <yikes> :emoticon-0145-shake

I can understand what you're saying, canario, but I'm just not convinced that changing the manager will improve our chances from here. Many people said that Warnock would turn Cardiff around but they are still second bottom, having lost 3 of their last 4 games. Lambert hasn't provided much of a 'bounce' at Wolves either. Changing now could work, or it could cause further stuttering as a new manager tries to put together a new squad. If we fail in the next 4 matches, then a change is called for in time for the January transfer window. We could get a bounce like we did when AN arrived (he was clearly not 'clueless' then), but we'd have to wait and see. No easy answers for me, that's all.

"We are gonnee be working hard in training getting our defence to not let in so many goals .
We donnee have nae problem scoring , we got goals in the side "etc etc .

The no nonsense straight talker died at Saint James Park and we are left with an angry gutless husk of a man in charge.

"If you lot had your way Sir Alex Ferguson would have been sacked all those years ago, and look how that turned out" <laugh>
    Like comparing apples and lemons.

That just doesn't make sense, a new manager just when the transfer window opens? Jesus you're asking us to give Alex Neil a chance, a new manager then wouldn't have a chance!

    Agree with this <ok>
Either change now, or very soon, so the new gaffer has a month prior to the window to assess the squad and decide on replacement targets, or go down the Delia & Michael route and become ambitionless cash-strapped mid-table Ipsquitesque serial plodders :(
Three guesses which path I'd advocate? Alright, two then...

The 4th match is on the 16th of December, a fortnight before the window opens. The key lies in the first two matches, IMO, from which we need at least 4 points. If we lose the Brentford match, therefore, it would be time for him to go, as that would leave 4 weeks before the window opens. I still think that our best chance of promotion is with AN, but even for me, this losing run can't go on any longer. Jacob and Olsson signing new contracts indicates that he still has the players on his side, but it has to be backed up by results on the pitch.

If we lose to Brentford it will surely trigger a Gunn Hughton type scenario of clappers and season tickets being thrown .
Only a convincing win will save Alex now .

I'll settle for the 3 points, as results are what matter now. ;)

Wouldn't hold your breath I'm expecting us to tamely roll over again with some more bizzare player selection and same nailed on rigid formation and tactics .

I think a win, though welcome given what's gone before, would just paper over the cracks. It would take another winning run of Sept / Oct proportions to re-galvanise everyone connected with the club - especially the fan-base, who are clearly extremely disillusioned by the seeming apathy of the board, and of the players who, say what you like, are not 'busting a gut' recently, and the one directional management approach to setting up and playing every single match.
Ragged defending every single week (only losing 1 - 0 at Derby was seen by some a a major plus! <yikes>), no creativity or penetration in midfield - I know we miss Howson badly, (but we have one of the best squads in the division, remember!) and Jerome becoming more isolated with every game that goes by. If it gets any worse, poor CJ will have to carry semaphore flags just to communicate with his team mates.

Brentford ain't that good and are in only marginally better form than us. I really think we could scrape something out of this game. Will it be convincing? No Will it be pretty? No Will it persuade me Neil can do the job? No.
If we lose to them given their form and position in the table then I cannot believe even our boards heads can be buried deep enough in the sand not to sack him.

As I've seen somewhere before, IF we lose on Saturday, AN should 'fall on his sword!!' and as others have said, it will take MUCH more to get most of the fans back on track - ie a minimum of 4 points from our two televised games!!!!

    Great post Cromer!!! <applause>

Or....they've been given extended contracts so whoever comes in for them in January will have to pay for the extra contract length.
Sorry but we won't agree on him staying, I would love to be proved wrong as it would mean a better future for my club (which has to come first) but I just don't see it!
There's 6 games in December, we need a MINIUM of 12 points from those games, starting with 3 on Saturday. But it's not just about the points for me, I want to see a performance as well, and the last 6 games haven't given me that!

ILD, although I don't completely agree with you, I'm really happy that you've said it's all about the club which must come first!

Unlike you, I would love that to happen with AN still in charge and his mojo fully restored! <cheers>
