He's played like that in pretty much every game this season. Only blip in his game is a tendency to find it all too easy so he'll go on a surging run upfront to liven things up.

After MatipHe's one of the best defenders in the league, if/when he goes, he won't go cheap, if Stones is nearly 50m.. then this boy, that can actually defend will cost no less!
Matip looks good, but VVD and Alderweireld are the two best in the league. Still young too.

I'd be staggered if he was better than VVD. You could pretty much play him in any position on the pitch and he'd be class.
To be fair, I've not seen much of VvD but I doubt fans of other teams have seen as much of Matip as most LFC fans..
The boy is deceptively quick, great reader of the game, good with the ball at his feet, great in the air and during his time at Sahlke played CB, FB and also DMF if required.
Don't let the idea of LFC getting him for nothing fool anyone, the boys is quality and certainly one of the best CBs in the league.

Nothing of the sort, don't rely on other people opinion to form my own..
On current form you can't fault Luiz..
Matip hasn't put a foot wrong since he's been in the side, we'll apart from the stupid lunge for Chelsea's goal at The Bridge.
He's be consistently good for Shalke for the last few years, yes, I see the odd game, the joys of BT Sport..

Jimmy never said he was average, jimmy loves matip.

no you will know from the beginning of the transfer window that Jimmy didn't think much of Matip and said he had mistakes in him and that he wasn't the answer. He was hopeful and supportive but in his mind he wouldn't be the real deal.
That may have changed now (such as how opinions of Brenden have changed) but that was his initial feelings.

Got to say you never got a chance to see how good matip is given how deep you played.
Van dijk was supreme last week. alderweirld is good but not as good on the ball as matip
All really really good players back in the prem.
If i were thinking on a top 5 cbs in prem all 3 would be in... and id add mustafi at arsenal in but i woyld still be looking at koscielny or kompany as my other picks.
