There was nothing wrong with the team the thick manc **** put out. It was his failure to motivate, instruct and have a positive plan to win the game that ****ed it up. He then didnt have a ****ing clue how to change anything or react to the on field situation. Like Clucas getting dry bummed by Amrabat. Or why only use two subs when you're chasing a game. Or why didnt he stop playing with 3 CB's and stick one or two of the big dopey ****s up front and try and batter a goal against a ****ing **** CB like Kaboul.

So he brought on Meyler and had Mason doubling up on him.
Dont really need to comment on that do I ?

Amrabat passed the ball backwards to a spare man on the edge of the box who crossed it. There were three central defenders along the 6 yard box to deal with the cross. Unfortunately the ball nicked off Davis and then Dawson and ended up in the back of the net.

Not got time to read this thread but my view on Phelan is he has done as well as anybody could have given impossible circumstances caused by the owners. He's better than Bruce tactically and I reckon we would go down with 95percent of managers in charge this season thanks to the owners not allowing a manager to prepare properly pre-season and having an interim manager in place at the transfer window

I really feel for MP, to have all this going on whilst trying to sort the playing side out is not on and the Allams should be ashamed of themselves. Lets hope Neil McDonalds involvement with the players can at least bring a freshness to the training.

We all can criticise, John, but Mike Phelan's situation is totally unacceptable; we really must take what we get on the chin.

I know you understand that.

Seems we might have got Ronald McDonald. But then Escab did conduct the interview,..

Im not sure how I feel about giving MP his P45.
considering the players that he has at his disposal.
I hope Allams invest in January.
anyone know when the long term injuries return?

Sunderland were treated to playing the role of Hull City for the first 20 minutes or so yesterday. They dropped back and gifted our players acres of room and they barely pressed us in our own half.

It was the only time this season that Phelan has had the balls to move the midfield forward (from around our own penalty area) and actually try to take the initiative.
It failed through some bad luck, but mainly because a team starved of attacking tactics for too long quickly ran out of ideas when the shackles were finally loosened.

And why were City allowed to attack yesterday? ...
Because it was bottom of the league Sunderland, and that just about sums up how daring Phelan is.
Expect more of the usual cowering play next week.

how about, all you panty wetters judging him when we have a full squad, before you start wetting your knickers?

Amazing to see the amount of idiots who were all desperate to give him the job now backtracking and slating him.

Odubajo injury and the change of keeper has a lot to do with our failures in my opinion.

Equally the fact that we had to buy half the squad in january and ruin the team spirit.

i feel like we fixed something that wasn't broken. after the manchester united close loss.

MP hasn't helped himself.
Marshall needed dropping.
Elmo is not a right back.
Clucas is not a left back
And Keane should never have been our starting striker.

Not a Phelan fan , BUT and I think there is a big BUT, who's to say that he's actually calling the shots re team selection. We all hate the Allams enough o know it would not be beyond them and might have been a caveat of his contract... who knows!!

Elmo can't defend full stop, sticking a leg out at Defoe instead of keeping goalside was abject

The Jak looks more assured than Marshall

We miss Robbo & especially Odubajo

We don't have the strikers - Sunderland have Defoe and means they can always score

Burnley & Boro don't ship goals like us

Only Swansea look as bad as us

West Brom is a MUST WIN - they are a mediocre team and we can't afford to lose against these
