Old Tricky Dicky would be chuffed if he was still going - with the majority of Presidents to come after him he doesn't seem so bad after all.

I used to, but I've given up. I've long since abandoned any hope of seeing any real social evolution in my lifetime. I don't want to fill my days reading a load of spiteful rhetoric from reactionaries who want us to live in the dark ages. We're not allowed to kill 'em so I just put them on ignore.
Lol..there's logic in that argument. and understandable for one your age ; I'm growing weary of it too.. Although I think it's part of the problem of the new generation. They can live in their own world having their narrow view reinforced and never reading anything that challenges that view. Think we are seeing the results of such a polarised state of affairs where the "other"is just some strange enigma spouting a different language that should be tuned out. Sad. I really still can't my head around this result..I understood the car crash mix of far right, anti elites, and people being desperate to be listened to. it was the same a few months back but the choice for guy that represent them...dear God....
You're right, of course. People should listen to all sides of an argument - especially young people who may not have yet made up their minds. However, I don't think I'm going to be converted into a conservative at this stage - and listening to people spouting a doctrine of divisiveness and greed just makes me angry.
There's still the hope that Trump could invoke section 3 of the 25th Amendment on Inauguration day to the president pro temporare of the Senate, declaring himself ''unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office." Pence would automatically become acting president entitled to all the powers of the office until Trump seeks to reassert his rights, which Trump at the press conference must promise he will never do. However, he would technically retain the title of president.
Pence is like Trump only he has a diplomatic veneer. They both need to be declared unable. Are any bookmakers taking odds yet to the next elections being "delayed".
