yeah.. they have elected the GOP and very hawk going. they have in effect said. it was better under bush. I don't want this forced healthcare that i pay for poor people get rid. everyone has an interest in making things work so they will... and hopefully that is 90% inwardly focused.
dunno.. trump only has to end obama care and people have more money in their pockets.. after all its not until you are sick that you need it. I think he will do a few things like that.. cut services and stick money in pockets and they will all be happy. hang a few terrorists.. double the executions in us jails.. etc etc. .the usual stuff GOP would do. I agree that any candidate would have won this election as enough key states would not have been hating on clinton to elect him. but they put her up and she had a huge lead but was it ever such a lead? did they wobble with the groping or was actually this always really close. at republican primary this was close. there was a lot of unhappy people at democratic convention and i do feel that led to many felling the party. and dissent was silenced and there was a lot of dissent who thought sanders was robbed
Newt Gingrich as SecState and Rudy Giuliani as AG...being reported...Chris Christie as Spec Advisor to the President cause he can't be given a official role. Well that teams warming up nicely. ..Thanos to be approached for SecDefence
He's gonna appoint into top jobs both Newt Gingrich and ex NY mayor Giuliani. Hillary will be going to court over the email scandal after all. Both of those snakes have will have a field day with the case once in office.
Yank channels saying exit polls/surveys had 60% of voters making and sticking with their decision in June so if true most of the guff since then didn't matter.
TBF to a lot for the yank media, particularly the liberals they are beating themselves up about the polling. saying actually in the last few weeks the polling narrowed in all the swing states and a few others but they, not wanting to believe a Trump victory went with the high end of the margin of error...the low end is this result obviously. .
A landslide? Last I saw the daft bint had the popular vote, albeit very close. They had an independent senator from Maine on CNN before, and he said that if 300k votes (in total) had gone the other way in swing states such as Florida and Pennsylvania, then she'd be president today. I know, what ifs; but the electoral college system (which I love), like our constituency first-past-the-post can be cruel like that, but a landslide this ain't.
could well be. IMO they do seem to be hard and fast party line voters.. not that we are not. its where the states flipped thats interesting. the really hard democrat stads on the east and west coasts stuck but EVERYWHERE universally clinton seems to have been as popular and gonorrhoea and its no coincidence that trump dropped the weak and unhealthy crap and went for she's big business.look at her and this lot or that lot. She never got this back on him who's dripping in big business. Her issue was she was too close to politicking in Washington and all the interests and i feel trump sold them a pup that his lot won't be. The fact he managed to win despite the GOP wobbles is also amazing and that party now sits in full power despite being terribly weak looking is testament to how bad its been in yankland for a long time.
Ironically the Electoral College system was put in place to stop a populist demagogue from winning....that worked well lol
Yeah its' probably not a good word for it but it was a landslide of states trump put the hard work in in the key states a nd she didn't do enough. while she was playing with celebs he was looking at things and finding traditional working states that were blue could be turned... and all the democrats did was land obama there who really did nothing for them for 8 years IMO she blew it herself. you need to take off the wierd dress suits. roll up the sleeves and get down and personal with these people to connect
The other thing I've heard now being discussed albeit belatedly is the assumption that the Latino voters were lazily being considered as a block vote like African Americans. when in fact there are big differences depending on where they came from. I did wonder about this during the election as I'd always heard that the likes of the Cubans and Puerto Ricans were traditionally conservative voters that leaned to the GOP. The old Wall in Mexico stuff might not have fazed them much..but I'll admit to being lazy too and just lumping them together when I heard them talked about.
There will be a recession in the next 4 years. Not because of Trump, just one in the pipeline. Much of the developing world has been slowing their growth and we're overdue one. Whoever was elected faced just 4 years.
They did vote over 2 to 1 for Hillary. To be fair a lot of people predicted that would be about there turnout. There are a lot of conservative Latinos, they weren't expected to all vote Hillary. Cubans have always been strong Republicans although Cubans broke from the Republicans more in this last election.
that exit poll suggests that it was dramatically split ethic vote. I would presume there is a long standing almost native hispanic vote in texas, arizona, new mexico etc etc and a very different ethnic group in florida etc. but yeah if they are in the country for generations a wall to a foreign country compared to obamacare may not matter. I honestly think putting your hand in everyone's pockets to force health care.. however good was not appreciate and every time a hand wne tin that pocket resentment grew. a wall is an abstract concept that is never happening.
no i spent quite a bit of time working there last 2 years.. not so much now. I was only mouthing the opinions i heard been in those **** one horse towns and i just think they really didn't care about anything but being heard. I have had BBQ in virginia and sat with guys who were ex-tobacco industry and they talked like it was never a problem til some idiot dreamed up cancer. I've been on trips with a guy who chewed tobacco and hunted deer with a bow. I've sat in bars with guys who were veterans and working two jobs etc. it all boils down to this. they are all pretty much alike and are all old fashioned. I've been in california and NY and they are so poles apart form hose middle guys that its not surprising i guess. As i said i hope they turn inwards and let the iraqi army deal with isis as has been doing and instead focus on buggering up their own innards rather than starting to bollox up the global economy.
