Yes Cromer, I've seen similar stories elsewhere and it does seem to favour teams such as Norwich. I hope we see mostly youngsters tonight. ☺
If I read it right, Whittaker, Turner and Oliveira are in the starting line up! Combined age 89 Ludicrous for a competition advertised by the BBC as Norwich under21s!!
Had to hit the mute button - radio Norfolk started playing some bloody bland, insipid, inducing rubbish by the Lighthouse Family. Surely one of the most boring bands ever - make Coldplay sound exciting / riveting, even
Starting with 2 strikers - are you taking notes AN??? Not a brilliant game, but M K Don's haven't really threatened. Basil and Sergi playing well - not too impressed with Whittaker.
NCFCBigScreen @NCFCBigScreen There's so few here at Carrow Road tonight I should have announced the crowd changes to the teams #ncfc 3-0 to City, Canos (who?) sounds like he's having a good game.
Holy Moses, Norwich "fell asleep" at a set piece from which MK Dons scored! I find that hard to believe, I mean this is NCFC we're talking about here! Now 4 - 1, so no major catastrophe...for once! Attendance confirmed at 1,042.
And he got taken off at half time!!! I thought Canos, Oliveria and Godfrey all played well. Not too bad 15 goals for and 2 against.
The minutes he gets given on the pitch. The chances we'd get awarded a Pen in those 3 minutes is very slim.
Some lazy journalism here though; "but they have surely never been this consistently low." I.e. He hasn't even checked. (I'm also too lazy to check but not being paid for writing this) Attendances may always have been this low in opening rounds. But a group phase in a cup comp that was never a high priority to anyone until the later rounds has likely never and will never bring in significant crowds. Football coverage is already at saturation point so who is gonna give a damn about this nonsense cup? Bah!
I throughly enjoyed that game. Full of commitment, 2 strikers, ATTACKING midfielders and a solid defence. Grant was the stand out player for us, really busy player always available and pushing the team forward. What was really great to see was Norwich City playing as a TEAM! Alex Neil came down to the touch line and started interfering with about 15 minutes to go, he didn't need to be involved they were doing fantastically well WITHOUT HIM! Well done throughly deserved win!
Excellent summary ILD and I certainly didn't see a weak link in the team. I think someone said he is Peter Grant's son!! Looking forward to the draw for the knock out stages which is due at 10.30 tomorrow and I believe we're guaranteed a home tie as we were top of the group.
So, we've been drawn against Swansea in the knockout stage of the Checkatrade EFL Trophy at Carrow Road. Tie to be played 6th or 7th December. Edit - Highlights from Tuesday -
I've been to two of the games - this one and the one at Posh and thoroughly enjoyed them both. No fear football - no prima donnas - no players looking disinterested or with one eye on the exit door. Nice to see free flowing, attacking football, crisp, slick passing and players in yellow and green grafting and playing for each other. Apart from the defensive gaffe, the difference between watching the U23's and the first team right now is massive. Will anything come of it - probably not, but I'd love to see us get to the final.
I have to agree OCF, I thoroughly enjoyed the game on Tuesday and it was great to see us attacking the opposition with numbers heading towards the opponents penalty area and obviously they don't suffer from as much colour blindness, as most of their passes went to a player wearing yellow and green!!!! I'm definitely going to get a ticket for the next round. PS - I see there was a photo of AN who was in the stands for the game and he looked FAR from happy!!!!
Alex Neil was sitting near me in the directors box, he suddenly turned up on the touch line with about 15 mins to go, pointing and trying to take credit in my opinion! He needed to take some advice as to what he'd been watching for the first 75 minutes as it was completely the opposite to what he does with the first team!!
