    Pish.

600 posts later & nothing has changed.

    Still the same rabid rant.

And no idea how the legal system or Government works.

    I think I'll ignore the next 600.

Irrespective of your views on Brexit. Mp's are representatives not delegates. The difference is you elect them to take decisions THEY think are for the best...not necessarily the ones YOU want. It's why referenda are politically/constitutionally contentious... The whole point of electing (in theory) people more able than yourself to look after the country, is because the man in the street isn't Educated/experienced/knowledgable enough to take them... in the way you wouldn't want an mp to rewire your house. If you don't like them, you vote them out for someone else... That's how our democracy works.

If ever you needed proof of this, Brexit was it. Many people had no idea what they were actually voting for or what the likely consequences were. It's not their fault... They should never have been asked a simple question to a very complex subject.

    An nvq in expense fudging.

You don't need qualifications, such is the beauty of democracy. Anyone with a relatively small 'deposit' can put themselves forward, or join a party and get them to put you forward... and ask people to vote for you. If you've voted before, you voted for someone based on them telling you why they'd be good at the job, and if you didn't believe them then you should have voted for someone else it not bothered.

I wasn't claiming MPs are super-intellects, my point was explaining how our political system works. Someone earlier wasn't sure on what a representative is. I suspect it's a common misunderstanding.

I said educated/experienced/knowledgable enough on the subject to take a decision on such a complex matter. I didn't mention intelligence.

I know plenty of intelligent people who by their own admission didn't really understand. I was blaming Cameron not the man in the street.

Mainly need enough muppets togo door to door canvassing voters and singing your praises. Social media has been another great invention for them. Oppose simple stuff like bin charges, complain about health services etc, promise sun moon and stars and the voters will jump on board. Its a very simple formula. Most modern voters will vote anti anything regardless of consequences

Indeed, Much of the Brexit vote was anti politics. Understandable but unfortunate in its consequences. Like I said, I don't believe you should put them in the position to make the decision in the first place.
