    No ****ing idea.
Start of the season I thought City would romp it, but no one has pulled away yet, even though we are still only 8 games in.

Only 3 points between 1st and 5th right now.
Anyone in that top 5 could win it.

I don't think Chelsea can, Conte looks like he has shored up some of our problems with the new formation etc, but we are still too reliant on Costa to perform if we want goals. Kante does a great job of controlling midfield and Hazard and Willian have flashes of genius but can be inconsistent, and our defence is weak sauce.
Top 4 for Chelsea would be a win for me.

Liverpool are doing better than I thought they would. Klopp seems to have made the best of a bad squad. Don't rate too many of their players, but Lovren has improved and Mane looks decent. Top 4 would also be most they can ask for imo

Spurs are a conundrum, they have some decent players, but lack mental discipline and a big presence on the pitch for me. When things do not go their way, they fold like an shirt. Top 4 would be a win for them

Arsenal need to win the league, they are the only team that have spent money, have a settled squad and a settled manager and anything less than a serious title challenge will be an epic fail imo.

Man Utd, too many seasons of mediocrity under Moyes and LvG for Jose to remedy it all in one season. They are lower than I thought they would be at the moment, but there is time to improve. Jose is good but he cannot perform miracles, getting back in to the CL would be a great achievement for them

City should win it. Good squad, good manager, no excuses

Outsiders - Everton......nah, good start but think they will fade.

    Really ??
Just ranking the PL clubs in terms of "financial power" gives you an accurate top 6 over
the past decade more often than not.

    Top 6 yes.
But who is actually going to win it?
Could be any of the current top 6 really
Odds would favour City, then Arsenal imo.
But given Arsenal penchant for bottling it late on, the smart money would be on City.

Would have agreed with that in seasons gone by, but we've spent some money and actually added players to key positions now. The only thing that I think might let us down is not having a clinical 25+ a season striker.

So far, Walcott and Sanchez seem to be providing that striker role, plus we have Giroud to come back. But I still think we lack a striker with that killer edge.

As for injuries, we've actually got good cover now in key areas like CB and DM, whereas before it just ruined us as soon as we picked up injuries.

    • Chelsea have been a shambles. You can see the players aren't far away from revolt, won't be too long till they are burying own goals left, right and center to get Conte the boot. This won't even get them top 4

    • Arsenal are a joke. Would be near the relegation zone if not for some generous refereeing. This does not bode well for February/March, which is Arsenal's typical 'Berlin Wall' stage of the season. Wenger to be chased out of the club in disgrace come summer

    • Liverpool aren't even that further on from last year. They have been shocking in their last two games and the bubble has burst.

    • Utd way too pedestrian. Again like pool don't seem to have moved on that much further since last year

    • It'll probably be city. Having spent 180 million in the summer would make it a crime if they didn't

You've done little to dispel the notion that you're a sock account of a Spuds fan with that post mate.

They also had dodgy keepers for years, until some dopey pricks helped them out.

Rank by financial power. Then adjust by actual PL performance say over the past 4 seasons.
That would give me Citeh as winners. Chelsky 2-3. Goons / Man Utd 3-4.

I would have Saints and HIAB in there.

But then again some people say they share the same yolk anyway. They certainly seem to share the same brain cell together.

I'm beginning to doubt my own judgement on that one tbh.....

Strange how they appear to pop up simultaneously.....I might end up owing @FosseFilberto an apology before long....

It would be remarkable to find another person as dense as HIAB on here, who also happens to post failed wums about Arsenal and Liverpool with the equal gusto, but you never know .....

  19. No, not for wum purposes.

  20. AFC has been failing epically for about two decades, now.

That is Wenger's lasting legacy. I'd love for us to be the reason he gets the sack. If that happened, I think several of the Gooners on this site will disappear, the shame would be too much for them to bear.
