No idea why they didn't give the guy from last season the job. They were unlucky to lose to us in the play offs.
Eh? We won over two legs, over 180 mins and at no stage of the tie were ever Derby ahead, or even level, after we scored the first goal.
Agreed. Losing the first leg of a play off semi, 0-3 at home is pretty damning. They gave it a ****ing good go in the second leg, that was admirable, but then at three nil down, who wouldn't. Some seem to think we didn't deserve to win the play offs. Why? Did we cheat or something?
Had the games been won the other way around we city would have got all the plaudits ... It's just what fits simplified narrative in the media
People seem to jump to conclusions about bullying of players or clashing of egos but this is the first time I can ever remember his players (supposedly) not getting on with him. He was loved by the staff at City and supposedly at Lester.
I agree but he's honestly like 2 different people publicly and privately. I've never known such a chalk and cheese personality in 1 person.
I spoke to him at a pre-season match at Winterton, got him to sign my g'sons shirt - he spent a few minutes chatting and even grabbed players as they went by to sign the shirt. He was alright, none of your quick sign and off.
I thought he had a reputation for being (largely) respected by players. I'd say he has a problem with authority though and he really doesn't want to understand that dealing with the likes of the press he just has to bite his lip and say inconsequential bollocks like everybody else does.
That club statement is weird. Doesn't say anything about why. You'd expect it to at least confirm or deny the 'suspended' bit and whether there's a disciplinary issue. Unfair on the fans to be that vague.
