I'd almost forgotten about Boufal until someone mentioned him earlier. Hopefully he'll be in the squad for Leicester.

According to stat sites he was our second best player last season, now a European champion, but many (on here especially) wouldn't have him in our team.

He was particularly poor against Watford, but I thought he was great today. Other than some unnecessary lunging challenges in the box early doors, he was part of a solid defensive display

Cuco would have had a better first half ;)

West Ham were poor but we played some lovely football in the second half.

Loved the feint from Tadic for his goal.

What a great result. We started very poorly. Couldn't place a pass for love nor money, Defence was uncharacteristically nervous and uncoordinated and Bertrand wasn't involved at all. Once Bertie got a foothold I thought we started to look much more together going forwards. Austin was brilliant. I don't think anyone else on the pitch or the bench would have tucked away that first goal and his assist was perfect. Redmond seems to be everywhere and involved in everything, he caused them all sorts of headaches, I really want to see him bag a couple of goals for himself.

Second half I thought everyone looked good, Cedric improved most of all I think, he looks great going forward, good on him for taking the shots when in position. Its confidence we need and these recent results have gone a long way towards building that. Once we settle into a game we turn on the style.

Special final mention in extra time for JWP first goal from open play. That will be a weight off his young shoulders. I'm feeling that this will be the season he makes his mark for us.

How about all of those calling for Romeu to be subbed, because of an early booking?
If VVD gets an early booking at Leicester, next week, should he be subbed off early?

Romeu was very out of sorts for the whole first half. Could have easily been sent off on another day. Cant fault people for calling for it. Puell, not as conservative as us armchair managers!

Because he looked like he could get a 2nd yellow at any time.

That was a fair call as he was on the edge much of the game as a result. He played superbly though, and that kind of considered risk is why CP is the manager. It turned out to be the right call, but there were a couple of heart in mouth occasions. I personally still would have subbed him at 2-0 seeing as Clasie was on the bench. Hardly an egg on face moment.

I'll give you that I was wrong saying Cedric should have taken the shot on the second time round though, looking back at it just now!

Also VVD isn't usually a walking booking. The way Oriol plays naturally, and in his position, it's always going to be tight. Games ebb and flow - what is right at one moment can change during the course of a game - Cedric being the most obvious case in point today.
