The main reason for his poor PL season is because he was always in trouble with the law, they needed to build more pubs in Beccles so they could have been added to his banning list! Even a new-born child failed to settle him!
Good to see the club's intentions outlined. Also interesting to look back through this thread to see how we were all wondering whether Josh and Jacob would make it this year. AN has all but said that they and Maddison have already (ie. not going out on loans). With Canos and Pritchard now added to the picture, suddenly we seem to be very strong on the wings and at AM. Toffolo has shown himself to have the potential to provide back-up to Olsson (and Brady, so far) and Thompson is showing potential behind Tettey as well. With Nelson Oliveira now looking possible, we seem to be going into this season in good shape with a solid start in the first 4 fixtures. Another striker after Oliveira would seal the window nicely.
One positive from this weekend, praise for Remi Matthews: http://www.brechinadvertiser.co.uk/...ter-hamilton-edge-past-ross-county-1-4215012?
Again?! That's great! It's a shame we are buying 3 GK a window. He will never see a Norwich shirt in his career.
From the equivalent of the Eastern Evening News in NE Scotland - "Hayes was particularly impressed by 19-year-old Maddison’s contribution and said: “James adds a great deal to the team. We see him in training all week and he is a level above what I have seen so far in Scottish football." Maddison, who joined the Dons on deadline day last month in a loan deal from Norwich until January, was thrilled to score his first goal in Scottish football. He said: “I really enjoyed that. We worked really hard all week after a disappointing draw with Caley Thistle last Saturday. https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/aberdeen-fc/1031093/undefined-headline-2061/
Just been reading a Dons forum: “He's too good for us” “Never going to be able to keep him after January!” “Maddison looks great: intelligent, comfortable on the ball, good technique, good delivery from set pieces.” “He always wants to go forward. A pleasure to watch.” “I think Maddison was terrific -- lots of effort. Without him on the pitch today I think we'd have had a draw.” You get the gist. I think they like him!
And hopefully getting plenty of game time at a (slightly) higher level than last season. Will he be ready for our 1st team in January? I would hope to see him given game time.
Myself, ILD and OCF are willing to drive him there - or we could start a collection for a one-way flight!!!
Well they can't have him. Lets get him back in January and get rid of Naismith for whatever we can get for him.
Maddison's goal for those interested. Smart sharp turn and shot. Keeper should do better really but a good hit nonetheless
And spend every last penny of that on van Wolfswinkle, who scored for Vitesse again on Satuday That's 4 in 6 games, verging on 'prolific'!!
Apparently another great performance. Local press say that they are to ask for Maddison to stay for the entire season, he has impressed them so much in such a short time.
