In which case why not start with Bennett / Klose at CB and Martin on the bench. That way if a CB or the RB gets injured then Martin comes on and any re-organising / disruption is kept to a minimum. It's not as though Martin's performances are such that you would fear what would happen if he didn't play. Any way AN decided to play Martin knowing his fitness was an issue rather than a fit Bennett so the problem was of his own making. He didn't really have much choice playing Olsson, but if Olsson had got injured or not been able to play the full game then what was plan B, play Martin at LB, another reason to have Martin on the bench. AN's decision making and contingency planning is becoming more and more of an issue for me.

Maybe we should look to sign General Custer in the next window, because in the second halves both vs Cardiff and Wigan, watching NCFC try to repel all boarders (mixed metaphor alert*) has been like watching Custer's last standPersonally, I like to see players exhausted at the end, because it shows they gave everything they have.

You must lead a very miserable life if you found no enjoyment in 5 goals being scored, especially the 3 scored by the Murphys! To each his own, I suppose.
Yes life is pretty **** at the moment, but the first goal last night was a error not created by scintillating enjoyable football the second was a huge deflection. I'm happy to take the three points, but , the second half could NOT be described in any way as enjoyable! I won't insult you the way you have me, you are entitled to your points of view!

AN may have his reasons for preferring Martin to Bennett, one of which could be his ability to make or score goals. If he hadn't scored on Saturday we wouldn't have won. Personally, I like to see players exhausted at the end, because it shows they gave everything they have.

I can't believe somebody thought McGovern's tip over the bar was showboating, it was a terrific save!

I sit almost behind the N&P goal and I'm not sure JR would have made all of those saves, but to be fair, our defence shouldn't be allowing our opponents so manyshots on target!!![]()

Not a great model, Cromer - Custer and all of his troops were killed (deservedly so).

At least he stood and fought, he wasn't a cowardy, cowardy Custer!![]()
He stood and fought because the native Americans attacking him were out to avenge the savage massacre Custer carried out against defenceless women and children just before that. I call that cowardly.
I was probably a totally naff analogy, but summarises our "all hands on deck, backs to the wall" defending when we should - and could have had the game wrapped up by thenHe stood and fought because the native Americans attacking him were out to avenge the savage massacre Custer carried out against defenceless women and children just before that.
