AN may have his reasons for preferring Martin to Bennett, one of which could be his ability to make or score goals. If he hadn't scored on Saturday we wouldn't have won. Personally, I like to see players exhausted at the end, because it shows they gave everything they have.
Maybe we should look to sign General Custer in the next window, because in the second halves both vs Cardiff and Wigan, watching NCFC try to repel all boarders (mixed metaphor alert*) has been like watching Custer's last stand
I think this fitness argument from Neil is bloomin nonsense. The majority of the team have no such excuse. Martin maybe a little excuss although he was bench ready before his eventual return to the team, so he shouldn't exactly be blowing out of his posterior till late on. Like wise Dorrans who has been available for more than 1 game. Olsson if he was suffering I'll excuse because he needed to be rushed back. The argument certainly doesn't wash with Pritchard, he came on a as a sub, if he hasn't got a good, intense 45 minutes in him then why on earth would you have in the match day squad? There is no excuse for the team to not be copeing as they should not only be conditioned to be able to cope with the championship shedule but they are up against a lesser resourced side who are copeing with the same thing. What really is at fault is our game management. If we keep the ball well and make them do the running then who needs fitness anyway? Bah!
Yes life is pretty **** at the moment, but the first goal last night was a error not created by scintillating enjoyable football the second was a huge deflection. I'm happy to take the three points, but , the second half could NOT be described in any way as enjoyable! I won't insult you the way you have me, you are entitled to your points of view!
Just watched the highlights - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic..._city_s_2_1_win_over_wigan_athletic_1_4696592 CJ desperately needs to find some shooting boots!!!
How this only finished 2-1 is incredible. Jacob looked amazing, Wes looked great, until his final shot, which often seems pretty tame. Olsson I thought looked really good for a first match back. McGovern pulled off some class saves.
I can't believe somebody thought McGovern's tip over the bar was showboating, it was a terrific save!
I sit almost behind the N&P goal and I'm not sure JR would have made all of those saves, but to be fair, our defence shouldn't be allowing our opponents so many shots on target!!
It was intended as sympathy, not insult, ILD. I thought Jacob showed clever awareness to anticipate what the GK was going to do and nip in to score. Credit to him for doing that, IMO. As for the deflected shot, I can't remember anybody dismissing Grant Holt's 'deflected' goals. Having followed City for 45 years, I struggle to understand all this negativity. Perhaps I should, but sorry, I don't.
He stood and fought because the native Americans attacking him were out to avenge the savage massacre Custer carried out against defenceless women and children just before that. I call that cowardly.
I was probably a totally naff analogy, but summarises our "all hands on deck, backs to the wall" defending when we should - and could have had the game wrapped up by then
