Nah goalposts changed into a loan deal apparently. As soon as we spoke to him something changed. Possibly not offering him his requested wage on the permanent transfer so went back to Norwich and asked for a loan and he's told us where to go? Just speculating of course.
Nah don't buy that like, everywhere else is stating we're being cagey with our last loan slot. Doubt we have used it on him. Think we're saving that for Jason Denayer.
Fair enough, as I said just speculating. What is true is that we've spoken to a fair few players over the past couple of days and we've still only brought one player in. Question we should also ask is why are we being cagey about the last slot? Is there nothing left in the kitty for permanent transfers?
It's a domestic loan init. It can replace a transfer that could cost us tens of millions in this climate. One slot left, got to play it right haven't we?
Sky saying we're 'thrashing out personal terms' for the loan with Denayer. Again, what's to negotiate? Thought a loan was a straight covering of their existing contract?
Oh yeah, and the agent will want his cut, of course. It could mean sorting the players personal terms out between the clubs, as in who pays what percentage of his wage.
I'm baffled about it though! My (illustious) experience on Footie Manager is that there may/will be a fee for the privilege to pay to the club up front and then the club pay a % of the players existing wages. Similar to Bony at Stoke and the reported fees etc: £2m up front and then they're covering 100% of the wages (I think). Be ****ed if I know.
