Sunderland are closing in on a deal for Lorient midfielder Didier Ndong.

Sunderland officials are reported to have jetted out last night to help push the deal over the line, with the Gabon midfielder due on Wearside to complete his medical

Fresh reports from France this morning claim Sunderland will pay around 18million Euros - which works out at about £15.25m, for Ndong. Plus £1.7m potential bonuses, which would take total up to £17million for the midfielder who turned 22 in June.

Hope they know what they`re doing with this lad. Sounds like a lot of pennies.

Does anyone actually know anything about how good he is? It is a lot of money and I'm not seeing anyone raving about him. All I know is he looks like a bit of a tit and he's the oldest looking 22 year old I've ever seen.

People in France, can't believe the money we are offering for him :emoticon-0112-wonde

Seen that Naismith one coming a mile off, that's cheap considering they forked out £10m for him in January, did they not?

£1m is a joke for that keeper
.
Norwich fans are saying he's quite poor and hasn't been the same since his injuries. I believe he's only a back up keeper, for them now.

Craig Hope: Sunderland's frustrations at senior level are impacting on a promising group of youngsters who are hoping to get out on loan before tonight's deadline.

Several of the team who finished 2nd in the Under-21 league last season are wanted by Football League clubs and believe they would benefit from a season in the professional ranks.

However, David Moyes cannot sanction these moves given how short he is and that could mean another year on the fringes and in the Under-23s for what are a talented crop of academy graduates.

Defender Tommy Robson is one such player and he is wanted by Barnsley.

David Moyes sticking to what he knows with talks now opened over a deal for Norwich striker Steven Naismith, who he signed for Everton from Rangers in 2012.

No but I've checked the stats. M'Villa's PL stats stomp all over his French league stat. All expect for passing. Get this, over 3000 minutes played last season with 87% passing success <yikes> That's a ****ing exceptional average.

He's also got soggy Macy D fries for a hair cut and his face looks like it's beginning to slowly implode <laugh>

That's something at least, we don't have many good passers and that is an outstanding stat.
