I was emphasising that the striker position is a weakness. I was surprised that people were saying that Jordan Rhodes wasn't good enough for us. I've not seen anybody else available to us who's better since Gray. Sorry if I upset you.
For to long we've lacked a midfielder(s) who want to get upto or past our forwards and we need that more when we play 1 upfront.
sorry if this has been discussed are we still going ahead with the deal for Henricksen, been off line most of the day down in Derbyshire cheers
The Norwegian international was seen as a back-up option in case Hernandez left but Villa, after being rebuffed in their attempts to lure away Hull’s one-time club record £10m signing, have turned to Bristol City’s Jonathan Kodjia in a deal that will see Roberto Martinez’s men pay an initial £11m for the striker. Saying we shouldn't sign somebody cos he isn't good enough for a team in the same division as us is one of the most stupid things I've ever read.
It's a bit touch and go. Sources here saying the deal is off, sources in Norway/Holland are saying he's all but signed. As clear as mud.
Be gutted if Henriksen doesn't join, though reports the Dutch end still seem pretty certain he is heading our way. Been linked with both Milan clubs, and Spurs as well as Anderlecht recently so will only go up in value, gets forward, works hard and scores goals.....what's not to like? For me, we still need a midfielder with a goal threat, another striker, and cover down the flanks (whether that be a right back allowing Elmo forward, or someone with versatility to cover either flank.
Maybe it was the Roberto bit? Is it one word at a time? I thought I can get "Hull City" popping up on my phone.
I suspect the journo has just got the wrong surname in his head when thinking Roberto.. school boy error I suspect
I can't believe it when the reporter at the training ground says Ehab Allam has been working hard to make these signings happen! Love to Know what the score is with him? Is he spending the newbies money and are they trusting him to get the best deals? Somethings not sitting right with me! Great to see though! Any thoughts?
We needed a Gray type player - pace, gets in behind and forces defences to sit deep. Rhodes is immobile, doesn't run much, slow but has a great finish on him. Exactly the type of player we don't need....in my opinion (Good Wife quote)
