Surely, please, we have to be in for another striker as our top priority (along with a Right Back or Right Midfielder/Winger) ??? We would be truly screwed if Hernandez got crocked....if it isn't Kodjia, and it isn't Rodriguez, who the **** is it going to be? .....let the speculation begin.

Reactions: Fettis the striker
I think they are the least likely of the three to return straight away. Their transfer policies are doing nothing to change my mind on that.
It's like the new owners have said 'Oh let's spend **** loads of cash'.
I mentioned diminishing returns on money in football yesterday. Let's hope it happens here.

I think Derby had a net spend of circa 30m last season - that's without the parachute payments that Villa have to counter expenditure too.

Derby must be in trouble as well, they managed to fall within the FFP rules the season before, but last season they had and income that was almost exactly the same as the wage bill and spent £30m on top, there's no way they can keep that within the permissible £13m loss limit.

What it does show is that City are willing to sell Hernandez, which may make some Italian sides come into the mix

But as Phil Buckingham tweeted, Hernandez is in Uruguay now which makes a last day deal difficult.

Might be bollocks, but Tom Lees from The Wendies might be on our shopping list. Centre back but also can play right back

Unless the owner Tony Xia does 'a Man City' and pumps a load of cash (revenue) into the club via a stadium sponsorship deal?

It also depends how the payments are structured. Even if they announce a deal like this one or McCormack, the payments might be spread over 4 years and it's only the payment each year that counts towards FFP. I know that's what Inter are doing with all their big signings whilst they're logging their sales as all incoming in one lump.

accounting alert: when you sell there's a profit/loss in one go; when you buy the purchase is capitalised and then amortised over the contract period. All clubs do that.
I hope Syd is fast asleep!
