Suggestions last night Burnley have agreed a loan move for Jay Rod are wide of the mark, looks like Hull his likely destination.

He's chief football reporter at the Burnley Express.

We've got 24 hours to get that, or any other deal done before the deadline for Saturday.

Strange, they've had two weeks since the season started, two weeks before that and less than a week to go until it closes. Nothing.

Are we seriously gonna have to wait until January to get some new players?

Just a thought, what if they haven't been after Abel at all and he's only posting that to cover his tracks when Abel doesn't move?
I've had a few people say he's full of ****.

Alan contributed as a source to my dissertation way back in my uni days - it's fascinating hearing about that industry.

The guy has a lot of big name contacts in the game, and many who he can call friends.

You've also got to remember, they're only taking information from their own contacts, who in turn could be being fed BS themselves.
His contacts are usually pretty good, but don't discount journalists being fed a line by agents who are using them to get a better deal for their client.

It's also the same for discounting a particular newspaper - most of the 'insider' sports journos don't tend to work for a certain newspaper - most of the best 'insiders' are freelance, who sell to the paper they have the best relationship with, who will pay them for the info, as they know their contacts in the game are good.

I wouldn't be surprised if Villa had made an enquiry and Abel's agent saw it as a good opportunity to get him a new deal, and is using the press to intensify things in their favour.

The one time I'm happy with our stubborn owners is when it comes to selling players we want to keep. :)

Also brilliant news about Rodriguez if true.

Is Ebenezer good?

Hull City are one of three Premier League clubs chasing Ghana international Ebenezer Ofori according to reports.

The AIK Stockholm midfielder admits he has received a number of offers and is weighing up a move to England. However, getting a work permit may prove difficult for the 21-year-old and would scupper any possible transfer.

West Brom and Sunderland have been tracking Ofori with the possibility of a move. In 2013, Ofori made his debut against Manchester United in a friendly and has gone on to score three times in 91 games for the Swedish side.

£14m for a Uruguayan International who is a goalscorer is undervalue in today's market.

We need goals more than we need the money. Why would he want to join Aston Villa? They have are no guarantee of getting promoted. If anything he should stay here until January, prove he can score in this league and get a move to a bigger or more attractive club.

We should just **** them around. When they come back with a 14m offer we ask for 18m, and so on, drag it out so they don't sign anyone and then panic buy Diomande for 10m on deadline day.

Kinell. Car crash thread this morning.

Although it does remind me of the time my Missus, whose geographical knowledge is laughable and whose sense of direction is worse, (I once noticed when she was driving through France, following my crystal clear directions, that she had L and R written on the back of her hands), blithely announced to all her workmates last year that we had booked a lovely hotel in Syria for a fortnight, where hiring a car, touring the mountains and looking forward to exploring such a beautiful and peaceful country. When questioned about the accuracy of her destination she was insistant. Syria it was. Syria was where we were going.

When I corrected her that evening - for Syria read Cyprus - she merely said that she'd always got those two islands confused.

As I say, Geography, not her strong point.

Bike crash of a thread if you don't mind Ern. Keep it on topic ;)

Our transfer activity needs to up a gear or two if we are going to actually get anyone in before the deadline, let alone for Saturday. I'm personally getting tyred of rumours when it appears that the Allams have never really had any intention of getting anyone in

Great bloke Rick Skelton, he has been blogging on City for years. After cancelling his membership in the summer , he went to the Olympics and won gold in the show jumping. Don't know how he finds the time.

That's a joke (and reasonably funny).

Waiting for somebody to say that MrsHallsSausageRolls is one of the biggest Hull City bloggers on the internet who we are all supposed to know about and who always gives out great info.

If everything's to be believed it's no longer the Allams trying to get the players in though, it's the Dais.

That mini headline made me laugh for some reason. Good song.
