Whilst agreeing that our fans do often moan too much, there is actually a lot of merit in getting business done early. As a club that finished just 3 points from a top 4 finish, we should be keenly aware that small margins can help. Who knows what those two dropped points against Watford may mean at the end of the season?
I know. Not for a club that avoids overspending, anyway. You have to pay a premium to get transfers done quickly.
Seems we're concentrating on landing out A targets. That's just sometimes going to take time, and yes, I think the prudently getting it done approach is the right one, rather than just chucking 30m at it to get it done.
Why bother paying a premium for Boufal earlier in the window when he was injured anyway? Just hold on, keep lingering and making interest known to club and player and try to tie up a more favourable deal in the latter stages of the window.
We also have to remember that our lying strawberry blonde fat manager left us at the end of the season. This meant that we had to divert some resource to finding and negotiating a replacement and then decide if we should push ahead with targets or sit and wait for the new manager to be involved. All takes time.
I have thought for a long time that this thread is transfer pornography. Lots of imagination and excitement and all in the mind.
