Righty ho then - time to exploit Leeds' left-back 'issue' and come out the blocks with our man De Ridder to run at them. Need to start high tempo and control the midfield early on. The service to the feet and head of Connolly and Lambert respectively is important. Without sounding too obvious, get a goal whilst we're dominating too. Seen us destroy teams in the Championship before and not get a goal, plus it won't be as easy as last season. A clinical touch is needed - hence why I'd start with Connolly who's bang on form right now. Should imagine we'll see: -----------Davis Butters Fonte Seaborne Harding Ridder Deano Cork Lallana ------Lambert Connolly
Might be more of a diamond if he does. Maybe Barnard might start up top, although that's more unlikely.
Snodgrass, Gradel and Howson are 3 of the best midfielders in the division, however quiet Howson and Snoddy may have been for 1 game 2 years ago.
Although Leeds will be your biggest (or probably second biggest only beaten by portsmouth) gate of the season. It's common for fans to come out when we come to town. They're only there to watch the leeds
Leeds are a big club, but one of many in this division, so nothing too spectacular to us Saints fans...
Will be interesting to see how this joint thread pans out when game is on. Everyone is being frightfully polite and fair-minded about the opposition at the moment. What will happen when the blood is up and the goals are going in?
But I can guarantee we will fill the away end and there will be more than a couple of Leeds fans in the Saints ends. You're all ****ing soft southern ****s!... But only if we're losing .
im not that bothered as a leedds fan if chamberlain plays or not... he wont get the ball anyway... I reckon howson will be too much for the saints to handle and will win us the game. I think we have a better defense this year as well as better midfield. Only problem i think is that we are lacking an out and out lone striker with becchio gone and maybe LB a bit weak but still am thinking we will win this Although saying that i dont know anything about the saints anyway... haha
Larry seems to think McCormack has the technical ability and pace to play up front on his own. Possibly it will be like the few times we played Grella and Beckford, with Howson looking to thread passes through while McCormack hangs off the shoulder of the last man and darts in and around the channels.
On the one hand you say that you're not bothered if Chamberlain playes. On the other you admit that your LB is weak (ie the guy who'd be marking Chamberlain) and that you don't know anything about us? Makes no sense.
Highly unlikely. Along with Portsmouth obviously, West Ham, Birmingham, and Brighton will almost certainly result in bigger gates. I wouldn't be surprised if any of Forest, Cardiff, Reading or Leicester resulted in bigger gates too.
