The car that was written-off was a 2004 Peugeot 307. I'd been telling the missus to get rid of it for ages, but my missus is the most difficult person to buy anything for. The only car she wants is a new ML350 Blue-Tec, and I cannot afford to buy her one of those, at the moment.

Assuming you were insured why didn't you contact your insurance company? Usually they will provide you with a replacement car while your ****box is being repaired or replaced or was it just third party only. Another wum **** up.
