It's a tough one. He's similar to Meyler in a way that he always applies himself and plays with endeavour. He may not have the most quality but I'd rather have them than somebody who doesn't give a ****.
Its never warranted. Especially when the kid was still putting the effort in. Loss of form is no problem. Lack of effort is.
He's never deserved to have been referred to as 'Clueless'.
The fact football professionals were raving about his performance against Leicester tells you that.
But well done for owning up and acknowledging you were completely, utterly and totally wrong.
It's not a tough one at all. It's very straight forward. He's a very good footballer that has had a meteoric rise through the leagues - that's not accidental either.

Clucas was never clueless and it's shocking to think one of our own would be castigated in such a way considering his endeavour.

I think it is. You need a mixture of hard workers and mavericks in a team. The likes of Clucas and Meyler compliment Huddelstone and Diame, yet some people miss their importance.
What I like about Clucas is that he really is willing to take players on. At Brentford away last season he was impossible to stop.

We have a section of fans who seem to enjoy calling **** out the manager and players.
It was only a year ago that Clucas looked a frail and nervous starter in the Championship- now according to many he was MOTM for us against Leicester.
Just wait till the first defeat under Phelan and the armchair managers will be slating him for being too open or too defensive, too predictable or too inconsistent, having a naughty step or failing to wave to the crowd when commanded to do so.
I was just reading a Newcastle fan's comment about the Huddersfield match: "Shelvey wasn't good but he was better than Anita, Hayden and Diame."We should offer £3m for him, he might want to come back now.
Newcastle fans can be a tad fickle. Last week Hayden was the player they'd been looking for, for the past 3 years, this week he's lightweight and nieve. Not heard much comment about Diame yet but they won't like him!
