I think you need to understand the rules. http://www.uefa.com/community/news/newsid=2064391.html We have had a big increase in income so we should be able to spend a reasonable amount.
If we have to worry about FPP then ever other club in the Premier League will have gone over the limits a long time ago. Maybe because he's in Australia he has got the rules upside down.
The way things are going we will be lucky to bring in any new players before the window closes. January will be the next opportunity, by then it may be fruitless and too late.
Wage increases are limited to a percentage of increase in commercial income. TV money has no bearing.
Other teams in the PL do worry about it, such as Everton. https://www.grandoldteam.com/2016/0...ransfers-short-term-cost-control-regulations/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Financial_Fair_Play_Regulations "Only a club’s outgoings in transfers, employee benefits (including wages), amortisation of transfers, finance costs and dividends will be counted over income from gate receipts, TV revenue, advertising, merchandising, disposal of tangible fixed assets, finance, sales of players and prize money." What you are saying would make no sense at all.
Did you read the link I posted? Here's another. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...estrictions-won-t-hit-high-earners-clubs.html As I said on the previous page, with the sale of Diame, and the size of our squad, we can still spend a reasonable amount, I just suggested we can't go out splashing cash around on mega-stars.
Everton have just been taken over and are planning to spend a lot more than they have spent before. We cut our wage bill in 2015-2016 and so far again this year. There's a big increase in our TV money so we can afford to buy players and pay them.
We cut our wage bill in 15-16 because of relegation. Those clauses are now redundant as we are back in the PL and our wage bill is now back over 50m according to OLM. I never said we couldn't afford to buy players or pay them. I'm done with this though, not sure what you're trying to argue over.
Good. So you wont be spouting any more nonsense. You said: "We can't significantly increase our wage bill, we can't just go out and sign Bony, or Otamemdi." You also said TV revenue isn't included in the calculations. Both of the above statements are nonsense.
In 2014-2015 our wage bill was £55.6m. We have lost a few high earners since then and took on a few low earners. Our wage bill for 2015-2016 will have been a lot lower. We have plenty of opportunity to spend money now. We are unlikely to be able to buy expensive players more to the fact they wouldn't want to join us rather than due to financial considerations.
I would like to think if we can get a couple through the door even loans more will be happy to follow...... We are obviously nowhere near breaking any fininacial rules, only if you break them for underspending!!
This thread gets clogged up enough with 'debates' five pages long on things not relevant to transfer news, we don't need another on FFP. Make your own thread on it and just **** off, it's boring.
I must say I find it amusing when a point is made, someone else picks it apart, it gets dropped, and several hours later someone chimes in with a comment like this. All it achieves is prompting further responses on an issue already dropped.
