I'm not sure what Henry did that was outstanding. Luongo the better of the two for me. Like I said, he had a good game today but if we do need that kind of player, I think we have better already.

I want to swallow a HUGE slice of humble pie over my comments on JFH. One win guarantees nothing, but if we continue in the vein, I'll gladly admit I was wrong.

    Brilliant performance today. U Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs!!!

Henry was not outstanding but he did what he is paid to do and that is break up the oppositions play, and he did that very well today.

Was great to briefly meet a couple of lads from here today.

I agree with most of the sentiments echoed here. Overall a very good performance but we saw last week in the final friendly against Watford that we had our players ready. In the first half, our football was scintillating. How we only went in 1-0 up, I'll never know. Shodipo and Bidwell combined brilliantly in the first half and tore Leeds to shreds. It was no surprise to see the Leeds full back replaced after 20 minutes. I was delighted to see our defence play so well. We all know Nedum is not a natural full back but I think defensively we are better off with him in the team. A fit and interested Caulker is also a good asset to have and Hall done ok too. Luongo and Henry both had good games. My man of the match was Chery. Not only is a threat going forward, he also tracked back and made many tackles in our box too. He really is a good player and is so tricky when in possession. I never rated Gladwin or Nasser so I hope the new French winger will get straight into the team provided he is fit. Shodipo tired and didn't seem to play so well second half but he is a young lad and I expect him to improve as the season goes on. We are two or three players short of having a squad to compete for the play offs. I am impressed with what JFH has done this season. Long may it continue.

Lastly, the new kits. Sitting here wearing the new away jersey. They really are the best quality kits we have had for a long time. I recommend them highly to anybody thinking of buying one and the sizes are normal (ie. typical sizes for Europeans), not Asian sizes which are about 2 sizes smaller.

Although I do like Monk his aftermatch interview was a bit embarrassing, I don't recall Leeds ever being on top of the game but he did apparently.

Leeds were on top for about 10 minutes just after half time, but that was about it. I've always thought that Monk was a bit of a cock!

No probs Kiwi. Only yesterday I gave away 2 shirts I never even wore as they were way too small. These shirts are normal sizes and very comfortable to wear..

Been stuck at a do all day, got the kick off time wrong and then checked the feeds to see we'd won it. Very pleasantly surprised, only just had a quick look at the highlights but they looked good. Good Pen from Chery and well done to who remembered that Greeno can't defend corners.

Promising start, couldn't be happier :emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer:

Gave it a day as per usual to digest yesterday's action.

The reaction to Gladwin's performance from some is way over the top. Leeds' best players were both on the left, with Charlie Taylor eyeing a move to the Prem and Kemar Roofe undoubtedly a talent.

However, Gladwin showed some neat touches IMO and delivered one or two decent deliveries. His tackling was rash sure, and was rightly subbed after being lucky not to get sent off but don't make him a boo-boy. I was hoping we'd left all that nonsense behind us last season.

Luongo was MOM by a country mile. Covered every blade of grass, tackling was strong and used the ball intelligently.

It's the 1st game of a 46 match season, I'm not getting carried away. It was a good start against a poor Leeds side, with far greater tests awaiting us. Then we'll see what we're made of.

I'd never boo Gladwin and I really hope he proves me wrong.
    I simply don't rate him.

I wouldn't say he's been given a real crack at the whip yet Col, he's not a world beater by any stretch of the imagination but his form for Swindon in their play off run showed his talent.

Intrigued by this Ngbakoto signing though. Seems a genuine Right Winger and I'd expect him to start there when he settles in. Hope he tracks back because we both know Ned needs all the help he can get!

Gladwin does look a bit lost at times but I thought he did alright yesterday and as EscapeGoat says he did have a few nice touches and if in position to do so always looking to deliver a ball into the box. He might not be anyone's first pick but let's not make him this years panto villain just yet.

    Up the R's!!!

First victory of the season and we beat MASSIVE Leeds no less.

JFH must be pleased that goals are coming from a variety of players.

He's not a panto villain but he was clearly our weakest player yesterday. I felt genuinely sorry for him at times as he seemed lost, particularly when tracking back. Delighted if he perks up a bit, but doubt he will get a run in the team if the French bloke delivers.
