I dunno, I reckon we could scrape a 1-0 victory over Fiji. Really? I do recall them playing in the 66 World Cup, I think... Or maybe I imagined that.
Well, obviously you found information about it. Or you've done well to hide your age so far. And yes indeed, they were very good. One of the surprise teams of WC1966.
Thanks Chilco for not mentioning the Italy result. I suppose I'd better say it before anyone else. They beat the Azurri as well 1-0 at Ayresome Park.
After that things got better for the Azurri, winning the 1968 Euro tournament, AC Milan winning their second European Cup and of course Italy reaching the final of the World Cup in 1970. No one was going to stop Brazil that year with the world's best player in their ranks.
Italy have always done well in tournaments, with the odd exception. Let's face it, if you are Germany's bogey team you've got to be good.
Any truth in the women's beach volleyball being 10 minutes freeview, with a phone call and credit card needed for more?
Froome lined up for road race when he was informed over the PA that he hadn't signed in. Phew...could have been disastrous to miss out on a technicality after preparing for 4 years.
Seeing as the kayak event isn't even on yet, maybe it's a bit of gossip. Could have been training I suppose though. One country in the coxless pairs bailed out though. Over they went. Hope they had their mouths closed. 4 in the Heat. Remaining 3 crews qualified.
Ah yes, it was the Serbians. Note over they went post above. The Men's Cycle Road Race is the place to be at the moment: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/olympics/36439120 Just had a great bit where an Italian rider had to change a front wheel. That took about 30 seconds, but probably 60 seconds loss against other riders. So off he went and his team car got in front, providing a wind break, streaming down the twisty hill at over 50mph until they caught the Peleton again. Clever stuff.
