Yes indeed. I've always had pretty good hand/eye coordination, and so was pretty good at TT. But it plays havoc on the upper leg muscles if you don't play for a few years. I last played one good 21 point set about 15 years ago. Couldn't move for two days afterwards.

Three years ago we got my son a full size table for his birthday. Somehow we managed to convince his mum it could stay up in the lounge for a few days. Three months later she'd had enough.
It comes out a little too rarely these days but when it does, my mates and I usually have a bash. Couple of us can be in it all afternoon. Killer.
Rules have been changed so that bikinis are no longer compulsory....quite right too, stupid rule. However, I'm sure they won't be in hijabs.Looking forward to the woman's beach volleyball already!...

First we had the story of the USA sprinter who set the World Record time for the 100m hurdles, just recently. But because of the rigidity of the US system of picking athletes, she isn't going to Rio.
Now we have a GB guy who is a very capable sprinter ordinarily, but usually is part of the GB bob-sleigh team, so his time comes in 2018 in Pyeongchang, South Korea. However, he's just posted the equal 3rd fastest time ever by a GB 100m sprinter and isn't going to Rio because it is all already been decided. Hasn't the Olympic committee heard about wild-cards.?

Looking forward to the rowing because it is a great sport, the swimming, the boxing, gymnastics and of course the track and field. Hope Kenya gets the 1, 2 and 3 in the steeplechase in both the men and women, David Rudesia gets gold in the 800m, a Kenyan gets gold in the 1500m in something close the 3.30 (I will never forget the way Kip Keino took charge of the 1500m in Mexico in 1968), the Kenyans and Ethiopians push Mo all the way in the 5000 and 10000m in fast times. I would like the Americans to push Usain in a very fast time to gold in the 100m and 200m, K James to break the world record in the 400m and of course the Jamaicans and Americans ladies to keenly contest all the sprint events including the 400m.

I see marathon swimmers, sailors and wind surfers have been advised not to get water in their mouths in Rio. Good luck with that.
Relatively easy for sailors and wind surfers to avoid getting water in their mouths, unless they fall in, but swimmers.? It just goes in.
It's just occurred to me that there may be a lot of events going on in the wee small hours in GB during this Olympics. I love that about overseas games. I can just about remember Tokyo 1964, when the games were covered by the first commercial TV communication satellite. When it was time to go to bed the events were getting underway across the World. Think it was the first time I was allowed to stay up because it was ground breaking stuff.
Just had a look on Wikipedia, and found out an amazing fact. Tokyo 1964 was the last Games to use a cinder track. The same type that sprinters used to dig holes in with trowels, so their feet could push off properly. In Mexico 1968, they had one of the first modern synthetic tracks.

360° video technology comes to the Olympics.
Unknown to me at the time, 360° video technology was being trialled at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in the biggest experiment of the format in a series of sporting events: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-28590113
Well, now it is maturing and 360° video technology will feature quite a bit at the Rio Olympics. And Auntie Beeb's mission is to show it all to you live, if possible. You'll be able to view the action from virtual reality glasses and headphones should you want [this need not be a problem if you don't have sets of these] or you can watch from a BBC website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/36974416
One or two posters [me included] have occasionally put up a 360° video on the forum. 360° videos are interactive in the sense that the broadcaster is showing you the action, but you can look away to another part of the field, lane, track or auditorium, or even into the audience, just as you could if you were right there. Another version of the 360° view is to place the camera on the person, vehicle, or right above the action so you can be right beside the sport itself. The links above give you a good idea of what's coming now and in the future. For now I'll pop up a 360° video of what is easily possible at the moment. There are plenty of other videos just as spectacular. Obviously, inactively watching this on as big as screen as you can, or with virtual reality glasses and headphones would be an advantage. Those with 4K capability should ramp the quality up to that level if they can. Remember to swing the view around with your head [glasses] fingers, [smartphone, touchpad] or mouse [PC, laptop]. Those with smartphones may already be aware that you can buy headsets quite cheaply to take your smartphone and turn it into a pair of virtual reality glasses. The smartphone's own earphones can be OK-ish headphones.
Anyone watch any of the football? Iraq v Denmark was good, Iraq were definitely (and surprisingly, at least in my mind) the better side... I honestly think they could give England a run for their money...
Watched Fiji v South Korea. Went to bed in the 60th or so minute... it was 1-0 to Fiji. Final score was 8-0, including conceding 3 goals in the space of 1 minute. Jeez.
