West Ham's commemorative kit for this season, I think it's for their FA Cup games - inspired by UKIP & Hackett Polo's....

I was about to ask what TIWFC stood for before I read the bottom line. I'd assumed it was Twats In ****y Football Clothes.

It looks like the sort of cheap, plain t-shirt you'd see a bunch of over weight, middle aged lads wearing on a stag in eastern Europe. The UK flag is just the icing on the cake. If they can just persuade Carroll and Noble to have names like 'Donkey' and 'Nobber' on the back of their shirts they'd fit right in in Bratislava.

Wow..... from a purely Saints point of view it's a shame we don't play them until November.

They just need a body in there capable of making a few decisions. Zola will do.

For all those who make judgements of us having a weaker team or going into full melt down, it could be a lot worse.

Not that I feel sympathy for Hull or anything, that's their tough ****...

I feel sympathy for them. We know all to well the perils of **** ownership.

Apologies up front, but this sort of thing is easily said, in all honesty. Yes, we could be in a worse position. SFC could be out of existence, for example. But SFC are in the business of improving. The moment a club stands still, or alters course, or changes the personnel, or any number of things where the upward momentum slows, that's the best time to be dealing with it. You don't wait until it happens, you prevent it happening. The doubters are feeling the usual close season edginess of having had the momentum knocked by three key players leave and not all replaced. It's easily understandable.

So, in the case of Hull City, yes they are in a bad way, and it could be worse for them too. But as they are in the same business as SFC, every day they don't do anything about their situation they make it worse. I understand their owner is gravely ill, and he has handed over the reins to his ill-equipped son. That's a shame for himself, and HC at this particular time. At the moment, with the appointment of Zola they are treading water. From their perspective they have to start swimming properly because their ship is going down.

Don't apologise for saying that, it is true. I'd just say that the part about changing personnel might slow down others, but we seem set up to actually cater fro that as well.

    We March On :)

Sorry TSS - not entirely sure what you are saying!

I dont think it was easily said by me and not sure what you are disagreeing with in the post. You did add some meat to the bones of what I said, and you said it rather well. At the time I wrote that I was in between meetings taking a well earned loo break - so had to be quick.

I would also add that whilst we appear good at managing and planning for business continuity, I am not certain, as happens with all businesses, that it plans out exactly as we hoped. There will be times when we tread water and come out seemingly better. Just that some of it could be a little bit luckier than we think on the outside...

OK, just to clear up any confusion, the line... things could be worse, is often said. So often is it said that it is easily tripped off the tongue. But it doesn't address the understandable close season concerns of several supporters.

Personally, I don't think SFC can afford to tread water. No club that demands year on year improvement can do that. Mention treading water to Ralph Krueger and see what response you get. ;)
